Fans of the G.I. Joe comics will remember that the Hard Master is a key part of the rivalry between the resident ninjas of the G.I. Joe and Cobra organizations. Considering that filmmakers have repeatedly said that the rivalry between Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow will be a key element of the film, so it seems likely that Okamura's character will feature somewhat prominently.
G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra is scheduled for an August 7, 2009 release. The film stars Ray Parks, Sienna Miller, Rachel Nichols, Said Taghmaoui, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Marlon Wayans, Channing Tatum, Dennis Quiad, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Arnold Vosloo, Karolina Isela Kurkov, Byung Hun Lee and Christopher Eccleston.

Yeah, Snake Eyes being blind? Is that why he is able to infiltrate and kick ass anytime, anywhere??

They must like Mummy actors, even that Adewale guy is that big black guy from Mummy Returns that has to babysit the kid on the way to the pyramid.

vampire, he is even Zartan, one of Cobra Commander's main henchmen/villians. He is under Baroness and Destro. And he is a good actor so that just made my day a little better. It will be interesting to see Imotep with black face paint like a character from Mad Max beyond Thunderdome or something lol.

Well..... Unlike everyone else on this site, I'm not as psyched for this. I never liked the show from what I saw, and I know next to nothing about the comics, so it just doesn't seem that interesting of a concept to me. However, when they put out a Trailer, I'll give it a try, and see if it's starting to look any better. Does look like they've got some good casting here, though. I'm a big fan of Arnold Vosloo (Imhotep! Imhotep! lolz!!!!!).
And is it just me, or does "The Hard Master" sound very dirty????? XD!!!!!

They might explain things in the movie of how they get masks etc. Come to think of it, a lot of characters have masks for some odd reason lol. Snake Eyes cause he is blind, Destro's metal mask/helmet thingy, Storm Shadow (ninja mask), Beach Head (green ski mask), Cobra Commander's old helmet with silver visor or the newer one which is a hood like the KKK lol; Cobra soldiers wear masks/helmets, and even Serpentor had the huge snakes crown helmet thingy that covered his hair completely, if he even has any that is lol.

Fave character in the series is Snake Eyes followed by Storm Shadow. Never really heard bout the master, because I wasn't a die hard fan, but I ;look 4ward to the flick.

I don't know anything about this guy really. I just used to watch the cartoons on tv when I was a kid. I love Snake Eyes, Beach Head, Duke, Cobra Commander, Cobra soldiers like the robot one, Destro, and Serpentor.

I remember when the first GI Joe comics came out, the art sucked. I also remember there was an issue with cobra commander and snake eyes without their masks on the cover. I thought that was stupid cuz i was so into the cartoons. now it seems like all I hear is the comics this and the comics that. The 25th anniversary toys and the movie are bringing in characters i had never heard of. Now I wish I had actually picked up the first issues of the comic like my friend did. hmmm, I wonder if he still has them. Maybe I should drop by his house next time his mom throws a garage sale.

Not a very strong cast but will still go see this on the big screen,I was hoping for a better cast and a June or July release, you all know movies that are released in August or September they suck. But this day will be my b-day so it will be a treat because I grew up on G.I.JOE.

I'm personally not a G.I.Joe fan(before my time), but this guy looks kinda stereotypical and funny, but i'll still give it a shot. I'm just not fully confident in stephen sommers and I hope he doesn;t dissapoint hardcore G.I.Joe fans.
