To get a look at Ms. Swan below...

Smallville's executive producer Brian Peterson descibes Zatanna's appearance as follows:
Our Zatanna is basically the same character that everyone's familiar with, only there's a Smallville twist. We're catching her before she has control of her powers.
You'll get a chance to see Zatanna bring a heavy dose of magic into Clark Kent's life when Hex airs on March 26. Smallville airs Thursday nights on the CW. The drama about the early days of Clark Kent stars Tom Welling, Erica Durance, Allison Mack, Aaron Ashmore, Justin Hartley, Cassidy Freeman and Sam Witwer.

Interesting they're throwing her in there.

Perhaps a better analogy is Wolverine in the Marvel universe. A widely popular character, closely affiliated with multiple other characters, organizations and teams. A transient if you will.

BD, I get what you're saying, but I don't think the comparison is apt. Jimmy Olsen is really, specifically, a part of Superman's supporting cast. Zatanna, for all that she may have appeared in more of Batman's books than Superman's, is her own superhero, a member of the Justice League in her own right, and has had her own title and miniseries in the past.

Finally something worth seeing on the show. I only watched season 8 because of Kara/Supergirl and they got rid of her. They should cancel the show in about...4 years ago.

i know she appears everywhere and wut not, but i'm saying i thought she was more part of the Batman world, like the same way jimmy olsen could appear in a flash book for w/e reason, he is still a superman character. does that make sense?

Zatanna has been freely used throughout the DC Universe. She lives in Gotham, at least part time, but she's appeared in Superman books as much as Batman.

i thought she was primarily a Batman character though. i know she has the hinted at and on again off again relationship with Bruce, so y bring her into Smallville. seems a bit like they r just doin it for rating, though that is the point.
anyway will be interesting.
