Gerard Butler Will Not Be Sabretooth in Wolverine
Butler's answer to the question? "It's not true. I haven't even met on it, I haven't spoken to anybody and I haven't seen a script. And I think I'm working when it's going on..."
That being said, when the follow up question "If they were to offer it to you, would you be interested in doing it?" was asked, Butler answered "Listen, I'd be interested in anything up until I read a script." So the possibility is not completely closed.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine is to be directed by Gavin Hood, and explores Wolverine's early days. The film will cover Logan's early life, and his involvement with the mysterious Weapon X program. It stars Hugh Jackman as Wolverine/Logan, and Liev Schreiber as William Stryker.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine was released May 1st, 2009 and stars Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Danny Huston, Will i Am, Lynn Collins, Kevin Durand, Dominic Monaghan, Taylor Kitsch. The film is directed by Gavin Hood.

Gerald Butler would make a great Sabretooth after seeing him in 300, but I'm not sure if they should replace Tyler Mane.

I agree with you metalhead, the argument that it is a prequel and that they can replace Tyler Mane is out of the question IMO. Hugh Jackman will look the same being years before but sabretooth looks a lot younger, in fact so much younger that he looks like a different person all together. I personally think for continuity that they keep Tyler Mane, besides it will help the budget in other areas hiring him because he is not a huge expense for the film makers.

I just read that according to "The Herald Sun", the Aussie-born actress/Singer Natalie Imbruglia was recently in Sydney to film a "secret screen test" for "X-Men Origins: Wolverine"!

yes but this movie isnt a continuance... its a prequel to wolverine in the first x-men, so they can bring in a different actor to take that role since its years before mane played sabretooth in the first, and i think butler could do a better job anyway, only time will tell who jackman actually chooses

I couldn't disagree more. If they're going to bring back a character that someone else has already played then you should bring back the person that first played the character. Tyler Mane played Sabretooth in the first movie and he's obviously the one who should play him in any upcoming movie.

no, you cant replace Jackman. He may not have been the perfect pick for wolverine, but he has grown into it, and to change him after 3 good movies would be like changeing the actor who plays Captain Jack Sparrow if they made a spin-off on him. Could you imagine no Johnny Depp?!?!
Butler as Sabertooth would be awesome though, i hope he gets it.

yea 2movie, he wouldnt be wolverine, hugh has already said he is wolverine and he is the one recruiting his brother for the movie.. for the most part it seems he will be running the show.. since gerard said that the case isnt closed yet, I would def like to see him as sabretooth.. that would be pretty sweet.. and just for the record, hugh was damn good as wolverine
