Gary Ross will direct Peter and the Starcatchers for Disney
The story is set up as a prequel to the J.M. Barrie classic Peter Pan. The plot follows Peter, who meets a young girl named Molly on a Neverland ship. Molly tells Peter about a trunk of magical "starstuff" that must never be retrieved by "Black Stache," the name Captain Hook went by before losing his hand. Peter and Molly set off on an adventure to keep this mystical substance out of the nefarious pirate's hands.
The project was first set up at Disney way back in 2005, when Jay Wolpert was hired to adapt the best-selling book by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. After years of languishing in development, we reported in May that Jesse Wigutow was hired to write the adapted screenplay.
The book was adapted into a Broadway play, which took home five Tony Awards earlier this year.
Peter and the Starcatchers was released in 2012. The film is directed by Gary Ross.

@zanyzap -- Besides their financial standpoint, he doesn't know anything. I don't think that's too much, though. Unless done right, it seems pointless to kill him off, especially given his circ*mstance.

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx Because he knows too much and Walt has officially tipped the megalomaniacal scale.

@zanyzap -- Why would someone have to kill him?

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx It was an attempt at an easy transition. I'm betting someone will have to kill him. Walt or Jesse or Mike, but most likely Walt or Jesse.

@zanyzap -- The "teddy bear" part is where I got confused. Tragic, just tragic.

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx I mean the character Ted -- Ted Beneke -- the one who looks paralyzed with the severe neck injury...

@zanyzap -- Eh, who knows? I haven't seen "Ted", yet.

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx I agree with the drug symbolism. And pretty much everything else.

@dan1 agreed! He had something great there with The Hunger Games series. I just do not understand why he would just walk away from that!

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx@dan1 I'm betting Saul sets him up with a new identity, and seeing as Walt looked so haggard I'm guessing someone important dies, probably Mike. Speaking of Teddy Bear, what are your thoughts on Ted?

@dan1 -- Indeed. I'm getting sick to my stomach just thinking about it...

@dan1 -- That would work, too. It would be funny if the actual scenario is nothing like our given assumptions, though.

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx I really detest this "lets split every season of every show up" trend. And by a year? Might as well just say season 6.

@bawnian-dexeus@dan1 -- With all the symbolism going on, I think the producers are intentionally making this show like a drug. This year, they're giving us a sample, and our craving is going to go out of control once the "I-have-to-wait-an-entire-year-to-get-my-fix" realization kicks in.

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx Definitely a "teddy bear" gimmick. We won't understand that scene fully til the end (or at least at the end of these 8 episodes). My guess is that Mike flipped his sh*t and killed Jesse or something, and now Walt is going for some payback.

@dan1 -- Both, actually. With such brilliant minds behind this incredible show, it's really difficult to say. It seems like he separated from his family, and tried to live a subtle lifestyle. It also seems as if someone has beat him at his own game (Jesse?), and he finally got the courage(or nerve) to finish them off(?). That may be silly spectating, but they were very vague. Maybe this will be one of those "teddy bear" gimmicks? What do you think?
@bawnian-dexeus -- Oh, definitely. I just hope they don't starve us when it comes to episode length, too. After all, they will be airing half the season this year, which f*cking sucks.

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx That, or it was just that entertaining. What's your theory with the beginning scene with him looking like sh*t, and the gun in the trunk?

@dan1 -- If that's not extremely clever, I don't know what is. The intro was nothing like I had in-mind, but it definitely worked. I don't know about you, but this episode felt extremely quick -- I may go as far as saying it's the shortest episode of Breaking Bad, so far.
