Gary Oldman to Read from the Book of Eli

Gary Oldman has found a real page-turner for his next film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Oldman is in talks to star in The Book of Eli alongside Denzel Washington.

Albert and Allan Hughes are directing from a Gary Whitta script, which centers on a lone hero named Eli (Washington) who sets off on a journey through a post-apocalyptic America, trying to protect a book that could hold the key to humanity's survival. Oldman, returning to his villainous ways, will play Carnegie, the ruthless leader of tattered town that seeks to relieve Eli of his precious book.

Filming will beging this coming February in New Mexico, with the film eyeing up a January 15, 2010 release date.

The Book of Eli was released January 15th, 2010 and stars Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman, Mila Kunis, Ray Stevenson, Jennifer Beals, Evan Jones, Joe Pingue, Frances de la Tour. The film is directed by Albert Hughes, Allen Hughes.
