Gary Fleder will direct Protection
John Davis (Marmaduke) is producing via his company Davis Entertainment.
Protection focuses on a college professor who looks into the disappearance of his wife and daughter and then "must confront authorities at the Witness Protection Program to find them."
Mark Bomback is rewriting the script, which was originally written by Allan Loeb.
Fleder and Davis also worked together on The Express for Universal.
