This project puts a new spin on the statues, with this live-action story that has the structures coming to life and protecting their city. Gargoyles is not related to the 1994 animated series Gargoyles, which Disney produced.

Lauren Shuler Donner will produce Gargoyles for Disney, which is eyeing the the project as a multi-platform franchise which may spin off into a TV series, merchandise, video games, and more.

@dan1 Agreed. Especially since they're both Disney properties. I've been wanting a live-action/CGI Gargoyles movie for a long time!

Wierd that they will not connect it to the cartoon, but a good thing cuz that was an awesome series, Keith David's voice for Goliath was perfect and the title song was epic

I can see WETA doing the motion capture VFX for a Gargoyles { the cartoon } film

I agree, choosing another path away the cartoon series was an idiotic move.

Why the hell would they NOT connect to the excellent cartoon? Who made that buffoon choice? I want to slap that exec.

It has nothing to do with the cartoon, but Disney is producing it. That seems odd and stupid to me.

I prefer it to stay as the classic cartoon I grew up with.
