Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner has signed on for the action-comedy Barely Lethal from RKO Pictures.
Sophie Turner joins the cast of Barely Lethal
The story centers on a 16-year-old girl (Hailee Steinfeld) who has trained her whole life to be an assassin at an elite boarding school. She fakes her own death and escapes to enroll at a local high school, for a chance at a normal life. Sophie Turner plays an undercover operative tasked with capturing the teenager. Samuel L. Jackson and Jessica Alba also star.
Kyle Newman (Fanboys) is directing from a screenplay by John D'Arco, with Brett Ratner, Sukee Chew, Ted Hartley and Vanessa Coifman producing. No production schedule was given.
Sophie Turner made her acting debut as Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, which she has starred in since its debut on HBO in 2010. She will next be seen on the big screen in director Isabel Coixet's supernatural thriller Another Me.
Barely Lethal comes to theaters in 2014 and stars Rachael Harris, Jessica Alba, Sophie Turner, Hailee Steinfeld, Dove Cameron, Jaime King, Samuel L. Jackson, Thomas Mann. The film is directed by Kyle Newman.
