Carice Van Houten joins the cast of Game of Thrones for Season 2
Both Carice van Houten and Stephen Dillane will play pivotal roles in Season Two. Stephen Dillane will play Stannis Baratheon, brother of the late King Robert, who is vying for the throne. Carice van Houten will play Melisandre, a seductive woman with prophetic powers which she uses to sway people towards her religion. She also advises Stannis in his quest to be king, luring him in to her way of life.
We reported last week that Gwendoline Christie has been cast as Brienne Tarth (a.k.a. Brienne, the Maid of Tarth), the sole heiress of Lord Selwyn Tarth of Evenfall Hall.
Production is scheduled to start on Game of Thrones Season 2 just after the show makes its debut at this year's San Diego Comic-Con. HBO has not announced yet when the second season will premiere.

@skywise Yep, I remember us talking Sword of Truth series. Enjoy. The first 4 books are brilliant, 5 is a bit boring, 6 is beyond epic in scope, 7 was useless, 8 also a bit useless but a better read, and the final trilogy of 9, 10, and 11 returns to being awesome again. Especially the final book.

@dan1 I havnt read the books but i love this actress. I will take your word if you think she is the right woman for the character. As you know i absolutly fell in love with GoT.
A side note i picked up Terry Goodkind's Wozard's Firsts Rule based on your suggestion. (That was the one you were talking about right? The one that kicks off the series? or did i get the wrong one?)
