FX Orders Six Episodes of Adam Reed's Archer
Archer is set within ISIS, an international spy agency, where global crises are merely opportunities for its highly trained employees to confuse, undermine, betray and royally screw each other. The series features the voices of Jon Benjamin as suave master spy "Sterling Archer," whose less-than-masculine code name is "Duchess"; Jessica Walter as his domineering mother and boss, "Malory"; Aisha Tyler as his ex-girlfriend, "Agent Lana Kane"; Chris Parnell as ISIS comptroller and Lana's new love interest, "Cyril Figgis"; and Judy Greer as Malory's lovesick secretary, "Cheryl."
"This project has been a great surprise for us and we're excited about adding it to our fall schedule," said Grad. "Adam Reed has written successful animated series for Adult Swim/Cartoon Network, and he has taken this format and given it a live-action feel. It is a smart, adult comedy and the characters are given voice by a terrific cast. It clearly fits the FX brand and we believe it will find support from the fans of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."
Produced by FX Productions, Archer was created by Adam Reed & Floyd County Productions. Reed previously co-created, with Matt Thompson, the animated series Frisky Dingo and Sealab 2021.
Reed said, "I've been a fairly rabid fan of FX's original programming for a long time, so I'm thrilled by the opportunity to become a part of it, and to bring our style of animation and comedy to such a fantastic line-up. FX is the flagship general entertainment basic cable network from the Fox Networks Group. Launched in June of 1994, FX is carried in more than 95 million homes. The diverse schedule includes a growing roster of critically acclaimed and award-winning original series; an established film library with box-office hits from 20th Century Fox and other studios; and an impressive roster of acquired hit series.

Archer is one of the best animated series on television today. I almost got giddy when I saw FX signed a 16 episode season 3. Amazingly enough season 2 hasn't shown the same genre of jokes as the first season which is a definite bonus. Working nights at DISh network, this season and probably next season I DVR everything, but archer comes on during my lunch so I use my sling adapter to stream the live airing of the show to my iphone, works everywhere I am as long as I have signal, also it works on my laptop and netbook.
