Full Details on DVD Release of Smallville: The Complete Seventh Season
Superman mythology grows deeper and more powerful in an event-packed season that includes the arrival of Clark's cousin Kara/Supergirl. And, there are two Clark Kents - one is the young man whose life in a tiny Kansas town sets him on destiny's path. The other is a Bizarro who shares Clark's DNA but not his values. Only one of them can survive as Warner Home Video releases Smallville: The Complete Seventh Season on DVD and Blu-ray Disc hi-def on September 9, 2008. Smallville features a supreme cast including Tom Welling, Michael Rosenbaum, Kristin Kreuk, Allison Mack, Erica Durance, Aaron Ashmore, Laura Vandervoort and John Glover. Fans will enjoy this collectible multi-disc set with all 20 episodes of the seventh season, plus over two hours of amazing extras. These must-own bonus features include a Supergirl documentary, "Jimmy on Jimmy" featurette, Smallville Legends Mobisodes Gallery, a comic book, unaired scenes, and cast & creator commentaries on two key episodes. Smallville: The Complete Seventh Season is a great DVD library addition for comic book enthusiasts and science fiction fans of all ages. The six-disc DVD set is priced at US$59.98 SRP, and the three-disc Blu-ray Disc set is priced at US$79.98 SRP; both have an order due date of August 5, 2008.
When Clark's cousin Kara (Supergirl) arrives on the scene, Clark advises her to keep a low profile and master her powers, but Kara has other ideas and becomes the focus of Lex Luthor's powerlust. Does Lana Lang prefer Bizarro to the real deal? Lois Lane makes a career leap and Chloe Sullivan finds that balancing a meteor power with a personal life isn't easy. New characters and complications abound, along with new secrets and lore, new thrills and special effects. Power up to Season 7!
"Smallville is an incredible, larger than life adaptation of a comic book legend, making it one of the most memorable shows on TV and a must-have on DVD," said Rosemary Markson, WHV Vice President, TV and Special Interest Marketing. "As with prior seasons, Smallville: The Complete Seventh Season is timed for release just in time for the season eight premiere of the adventurous series on the CW."
Smallville was developed for television by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar, based on DC Comics characters. The executive producers for season seven are Gough & Millar, Ken Horton, Kelly Souders & Brian Peterson, Todd Slavkin & Darren Swimmer, James Marshall, Mike Tollin, Brian Robbins and Joe Davola.
