The team behind the global phenomenon The Da Vinci Code returns for the highly anticipated Angels & Demons, based upon the bestselling novel by Dan Brown. Tom Hanks reprises his role as Harvard religious expert Robert Langdon, who once again finds that forces with ancient roots are willing to stop at nothing, even murder, to advance their goals. Ron Howard again directs the film, which is produced by Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, and John Calley. The screenplay is by David Koepp and Akiva Goldsman.

When Langdon discovers evidence of the resurgence of an ancient secret brotherhood known as the Illuminati - the most powerful underground organization in history - he also faces a deadly threat to the existence of the secret organization's most despised enemy: the Catholic Church. When Langdon learns that the clock is ticking on an unstoppable Illuminati time bomb, he jets to Rome, where he joins forces with Vittoria Vetra, a beautiful and enigmatic Italian scientist. Embarking on a nonstop, action-packed hunt through sealed crypts, dangerous catacombs, deserted cathedrals, and even to the heart of the most secretive vault on earth, Langdon and Vetra will follow a 400-year-old trail of ancient symbols that mark the Vatican's only hope for survival.

Angels & Demons hits theaters worldwide on May 15.

The illuminati? Geez what next? The freemasons, again? Or who killed JFK. Maybe it's going to be if Heath Ledger actually overdosed or not.

This looks very good. I recently watched The Da Vinci Code and thought it was good. Have not read any of the books yet.

I loved the book. This should be better than The Da Vinci Code.

Great hypotheses Vamp. I agree completely, and it makes perfect sence. The Da Vinci Code was slow, and I couldn't take the fact that every little "sign" we see everyday. Like those signe's in the ground, or the upside down triangle meaning a woman. I'm sorry.

But this looks much better, and Ewan McGregor is in it so Whoop Do! I'm there.

"Angels & Demons" was intended as a prequel, and I think that it was actually released AFTER "The DaVinci Code" was, but they thought it would work better in the movie that this was a sequel. Since they portrayed Robert Langdon as having been sick at the sight of the body of the professor in "The DaVinci Code." It wouldn't make sense if in this one, which was intended as a prequel, that he had seen all this carnage, and yet he was STILL all woozy at the sight of it in the sequel "The DaVinci Code." So they decided to play it as a sequel. They didn't really need to change much from what I remember of the book, though, so I'm not worried about THAT part.

I actually enjoyed "The DaVinci Code" movie IMMENSELY, so I've been looking forward to this ever since I got the teaser on the DVD of "The DaVinci Code!" LOLZ!
