Tongue in cheek, are you serious putting that term on this franchise. And you say your glad Jason hasn't ventured out to the demented like kills in Saw. Well, amigo, you must have missed out on Friday III, when Jason shoots a spear gun into woman's eye. Lol, he stuck a party blower in a chick's eye. Are you sure you know about Jason? What you sound like you want from Jason is a teletubby or Barney type of style? You want this guy to start crying and expressing his emotions on the view. This guy has always been demented, and he missed that in this updated version. "He doesn't get his jollies off of it". Really man, his chant is, kill, kill, ma, ma. He enjoys killing for his mother. He is dumb but to go far as calling him mentally challenged is misjudgement. Now, if you were describing Leatherface, then I would agree with you. I didn't say that the remake wasn't violent, but compared to the previous Jasons that belongs in the bottom row. Disturbia was bullsh*t and nothing was disturbing in that movie, except for that movie, in a bad way. I loved Rambo, correct. I loved f*cked up bloody sh*t, and I have no idea why you have any interest in Jason movies or any other slasher, zombie or other types of horror films. And it's kind of hypocritical of your anti-gross out, bloody sh*t, since you have a terminator as your avatar, from which i remember in T2, the T-1000 posing as Connor's foster mom turns it's arm into a solid knife and sticks it through Todd's mouth, with blood flowing out.

Well Jason cutting people in half, or slamming somebody in a sleeping bag against a tree, were a bit tongue in cheek. Saw movies are pure evil demented kills. That's why I am glad Jason hasn't ventured into that Genre, and I hope New Line never has him do so.
Jason is a plain killer. He doesn't get his jollies off of it like Jigsaw does. He's just a mentally challenged maniac, who kills because his mommy told him to. Jigsaw is Jigsaw and Jason is Jason. Even though I know what you mean, by wanting Jason to be more violent, let's not blend both into an unrecognizable soup of bloodlust. Besides, I think, the killing that went on in the remake was pretty violent. Like when the actor who played Shia Labeouf's Asian friend from Disturbia gets that spike pushed slowly through his throat, as he's futilely trying to stop it. That was disturbing.
Kind of like, when that guy on "Saving Private Ryan gets a bayonet pushed slowly into his heart by that German. That was VERY disturbing, because he was pleading with him not to do it. Man, that was tough to watch.
The most disturbing Jason kill I can think of, is when the girls father (I think in part six) comes to save her, and Jason has the guy on the ground and bends him backward, so his head touched his feet. That was gross!
You must have really loved (bloody) Rambo.

I found that the acting could have been a little better and the kills should have been different. I enjoyed the film but still, it had something wrong about it that I couldn't put mu finger on.
Personally I didn't like it when he ran nor attacked his victims, I call that sloppy. He rushed his kills, the old Jason took his time and used the right weapons for the job.

Vanboy, I'm going to have to disagree with you on the original plot of the Friday remake. Every part of the movie I could give you a moment from the previous movies from which it happened. The guy looking for his missing sister ordeal had already been done in Final Chapter. The thing that disappointed me were that the kills weren't all that great. He didn't really get to mutilate and dismember anyone. I remember Jason cutting motherf*ckers in half and making soup out of them. In this updated version, he just really stabbing and chopping at people with different objects. This is why I love Saw. Jason needs to take notes on Jigsaw for finding out cooler ways to kill people.

I was kind of disappointed with the Friday remake. It did have some original plot devises. I hated that they just had to kill off the girl who was tagging around through the whole movie with the guy, putting her own life at risk helping him look for his sister. I hate that crap! Why not go against the grain, and hey.....actually let her live! She earned it! That might not be formulaic enough for them.
But I felt like the remake was actually like the original part 2 anyway. I mean, we see Pamela Voorhees get her head lopped off at the beginning, just like in the original part 2, so it seemed like part two already. I think, that they should have made the remake, with her as the killer.
I did like how Jason got his mask though. Quite plausible. He goes to pick up his old mask and finds the hockey mask in the load of junk. But you got to wonder...how many hockey rinks are in those woods?
And I hated that, "Hey you guys, quit joking around" crap. I can't believe they still pulled that garbage in the remake. Like anybody is going to think, every single time, that their friends are definitely playing a joke on them. And who talks to themselves so such an extent, that you'd think that they were giving a dissertation on the pros and cons of being left to your own diversions?
Well, I can't really say that much about Friday movies, because even my camp, Halloween did it. When Jamie Lee goes over to find all of her friends dead, she's telling them to stop joking around, when the lights are out.
Duuuuuh, maybe..just maybe there is a masked killer in the house Laurie, and all of your friends are dead?
And my biggest complaint, that I just remembered... When Tommy tries to tell her that he saw the "Boogeyman", she gets pissed at him and tells him to stop lying, but in the beginning of, and throughout the movie, she herself sees this creepy freakin' guy wearing a white "Shat" mask hanging around staring at her while she's in class, and staring at her while she's in her bedroom, and staring at her from behind some bushes. Why the Hell would she get pissed doubt Tommy?

Great. Can't wait, but honestly, who are they trying to kid here. Remake-Sequel. That's the biggest piece of bullsh*t I've ever heard of. Just call them sequels because that's what they are the Friday the 13th and the new upcoming Freddy flick is nothing more but a sequel and they just threw remake in front of it to bring in more audience. Yeah, but out of the major horror icons, Jason is one that I love watching.

Too many teenage films, lets have adults handle Jason the second time around.
Nothing harms him anyway or Freddy or Myers, they are the undead, soulless creatures that only kills who ever comes onto their turf.

Rushed, no one is really head-over-heels for this idea after the first one not doing so well... and I'm not even curious to see what his head looks like after the wood chipper. Screw this series... SOOOO dead. These are all starting to look like One Tree Hill/90210/Gilmore Girls meets horror fan favorite remakes. I hope directors are at least getting laid throughout casting selections.
