Frank Darabont to Follow The Walking Dead

The Shawshank Redemption) to Follow The Walking Dead|imgRB}According to Variety AMC is going to be putting together a development deal with Frank Darabont (The Green Mile) to write and direct an adaptation of Image Comics' graphic novel series The Walking Dead. This show will be a series.

The graphic novel was written by Robert Kirkman. It takes place after the apocalypse when a group of zombie survivors are struggling to survive. They are led by Rick Grimes, a place officer, as he tries to find them a safe place to reside.

There have been many editions of the Walking Dead graphic novels ever since they were published in 2003.

"This is not about zombies popping out of closets," stated Joel Stillerman, AMC's senior vice president of programming. "This is a story about survival, and the dynamics of what happens when a group is forced to survive under these circumstances. The world(in Walking Dead) is portrayed in a smart, sophisticated way."

Currently, there is no studio attached to the project.
