Fraggle Rock heads to New Regency
New Regency acquired the property rights to Jim Henson's popular HBO family show yesterday, which originally ran for five seasons starting in 1983. The film has long been in the planning stages, and now, it will finally move forward.
Fraggle Rock revolves around a group of rock dwelling creatures who come in contact with human beings. They are at first believed to be aliens. There is no set start date for this potential family film franchise, but it will likely arrive in time for the holidays in 2013. Fans can expect a rush on Fraggle Rock if The Muppets reboot proves to be a winner at the box office this Thanksgiving.
Fraggle Rock: The Movie comes to theaters in 2015. The film is directed by Cory Edwards.

I loved Fraggle Rock as a kid. I really hope they do puppets and not CG or animation. The puppets are what made the show.

I grew up watching this show and loved it as a kid. i would get up extra early just to catch the show. Jim Henson was a genius. I have grown out of the it however but am still excited to see what they can do.
More than that tho i want to see thisDark Crystal sequel i have been hearing about. In my mind, The Dark Crystal was Henson's most amazing creation as every shot was absolutly hand crafted. Was a bit ahead of its time. I really hope they can pull it off without the genius himself.
