Fox takes on another Schwarzenegger remake
The studio has set David Ayer (Training Day, Street Kings) to write and direct the new film based off the 1984 Commando film and it was said he will put a "real-world spin" on the premise. It was said that Ayer's lead character won't have the brawn that Arnold Schwarzenegger had in the original film, but will be more skilled in covert arts and weaponry.
No production schedule was released for the remake.
Commando was released in 2011. The film is directed by David Ayer.

A real-world twist? No. Please, make this as stupid and badass as the original. This remake could be so good, but if you try to make it real, but keep the feel of the original, it's just gonna fall flat. get the crank guys to do this. Or why not michael bay? and i would NEVER say "michael bay should direct that" but I think a film like commando needs a michael bay to helm it.

I'll admit the story was lacking a bit and your right without Arnold it would have really really sucked. it just pisses me off now a days we don't have action films like the good old one's Hell when Stallone did the last Rambo that's why6 i was so siked out. and he delivered. just pissed he announced today he wont be doing another one. But what im saying is that brute force in a action film is just not their. Its like Hollywood we did the action formula and it sucks. Everything now a days is martial arts and to much of it. I just miss the old ways that's all. Like in the last 10 years the only action action movie ive seen that i like was Taken. I really cant remember another one. And im not talking sci fi action and comic movie action. Real worlds possibilities action. Like the bourne series was great but not in the same category. Hard to explain.

Remy, "You Son of Bitch" [as are muscles flex as we slap are hands together, close up on the muscles] I wasn't saying it was bad, its a good classic action movie, I was saying without Arnold, necks being broken, cussing, sh*t getting blown up, people getting the ass beat, the movie will suck, and story-wise its utter sh*t, I agree these movie today are really lacking, the new one will geared towards teens, who haven't seen the first, like yuppie romance bullsh*t, kid themed movies, with bad to horrible acting, a movie that should be in theaters but on TV, so it really doesn't work unless its the 80's
I agree with Stone Cold being it, hell even the Rock, and hit girl, but it has to be someone big, not someone small playing someone big (Adrian Brody in Predators), and cussing and explosions

you guys are nuts this was such a bad movie! it was so sloppy! i have watched it a thousand times cause its so bad it make me laugh! the intro with the deer! "YOU F*CKIN WHOOORE!" quote by Sully is amazing! or flying into a tree going a 100 mph then looking at the girl "are you ok?" haha man i love watching this peace of sh*t!

I would have to agree with you on that Jimthar, it should have jason Statham in it, But who is going to play the daughter,Alyssa Milano was in the original ,thats what helpped her actting career(besides whos the boss).they need to find someone around the same age she was back in 84...

Krull is a movie they should reboot, I know fox studios probably didn't have nothing to do with the film, but I love the film depite it's flaws, that movie could be rebooted or a sequel and so as Legend as well. Those two films deserve better graphics, and if it does turn out bad a least they tried and I stay in love with the originals.

No! you cant screw with this film! Its classic 80's cheese at its best. Hilarious acting and dialogue a badguy in chain mail and Arnold, no remakes! This movie is great in its own way, so cheesy its funny, action packed 80's quality!

my all time favorite arnold movie...i don't want this tarnished.
Plus why remake it? The plot they mentioned there isn't anything that's specific to Commando. Just make the movie and leave the commando name off of it. Just titling it Commando isn't going to bring fans into the theater...especially if it doesn't have Arnold, and has nothing to do with the Original.

I agree this shouldn't be remade, a sequel maybe a spin off would be even better but no one can replace the most famous action man alive. Sure he was a bad actor back in the day, but who cares about that, some things should never be retouched and this is one of them.
Let some ill fated teen watch the original.
