Fox Set for Cowboy Bebop Film

Fox is set to bring one of the most popular anime series of all time to the silver screen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox is bringing the beloved series Cowboy Bebop to the big screen. Keanu Reeves has signed on to portray the lead, Spike Spiegel.

The series revolves around Spiegel and Jet Black, two bounty hunters in the year 2071, who pilot the ship, "Bebop" and travel through "astral gates" that allow for inter-stellar travel, to track down the galaxy's criminals.

Peter Craig is writing the script for the anime adaptation, though no director has been attached as of yet. No production schedule was released at this time.

    If you've never seen the show, there's a reason it was voted best anime all time. You can get the Remix collection for about 30 bucks, and for the entire run of the best anime ever, that's a damn good price.

    keanu reaves is the worst actor on the face of the planet, why didn't they choose a real actor like james franco or johnny depp, honestly k. reaves cannot act. i can't stand him he has ruined so many movies for me, the matrix, constantine -- he just sux, how does this guy get jobs he has absolutely no acting skills whatsoever, he is literally bill n ted in every movie he plays.

    this will be hard to do. cowboy bebop has been gone off the air for a while now. and this will take a big buget. they should of done this movie like in 2002. and keanu reeves had been talking about doing this for sometime. so him playing as spike doesnt suprise me. but i wish they had more choices. but then again im not suprised. and since hes been wanting to do it he will make it work. and the casting? maybe a new set of fresh faces might do the trick. who knows?

    I'm a huge fan of the show and I've heard about this for a while on Latinoreview and Joblo and Keanu Reeves is a good enough mainstream actor for the job but the movie could still end up being sh*t but until I see a finished product I can't really say anything good or bad about it, but I will say Im not warming up to the idea.

    Ooooh! Tough one. I honestly wish Hollywood would stay away from anime. Each title is so specific, especially to the fans. Keanu... hmmmmmmmm... I don't know. I believe he deserves more credit than he get, but - BIG but - he is not Spike.
