Fox pulls hurricane-themed episode of Family Guy
Fox pulls hurricane-themed episode of Family Guy
Fox has canceled plans for three of its shows on the Sunday night Animation Domination lineup to run hurricane-themed crossover episodes.

The network yanked episodes of Family Guy, The Cleveland Show, and American Dad!, which were all set to air this Sunday night and revolved around a hurricane which ran through all three shows. The episodes were pulled due to the latest hurricane which has already claimed the lives of over 300 people.

The network indicated the episodes will be saved for later use next season. All three shows will air repeats on Sunday night. Family Guy, The Cleveland Show, and American Dad! are all created and executive produced by Seth MacFarlane, who also provides many voices for all three shows.

Family Guy, The Cleveland Show, and American Dad! will return with all new episodes next week on Fox's Sunday night Animation Domination block.

    They'll make good for a straight to DVD set. As around 10 episodes of Family Guy have been released that way before.

    @insertusernamehere That's a pretty weak comparison.

    @johnnyblazetb82 I like Family Guy, but yes, South Park is king.

    Thank God somthing good came out of that hurricane, I don't think manypeople will notice anyway. Same crap every week with Macfarline's unoriginal shows. seriosly is there any kind of structure to them besides random pop in jokes and hommages to the 80's so that guys my age can go "heheh i usta play with trap jaw when i was a kid that's hillarious" at least South park put's some thought into there insults.

    News just in: Matt Stone and Trey Parker are never going to kill Kenny or any other person on South Park because someone just died, and someone will probably die tomorrow. Son of a biscuit.

    @corey No, no. I wasn't criticising Heroes for writing the episode that way, nor am I criticising MacFarlane for writing this story into his shows. I was criticising NBC for choosing to air that episode a week after the Haiti earthquake when the world was still very much reeling from it.

    But still...I was looking forward to these episodes on Sunday.

    @shuabert Heroes is a different story, though. Pass/Fail wasn't meant to pluck laughs as Family Guy does on purpose. Besides, I didn't that episode as an asswhole move on Heroes part. It was part of the episode, what happened. But, I agree with this. Its all about respect.

    @insertusernamehere It's not about being offended, it's about being respectful. People who just lost family and home don't need to turn on the tv THE SAME WEEK and see the same thing happening in a fictional -- especially comedic -- setting. Yes, I'll watch the episodes and probably laugh, but now is not the time. This is purely a matter of timing. If you want to complain about FOX being politically correct, then point to the episode "Partial Terms of Endearment", Family Guy's "abortion" episode that never aired in the US.

    They pull episodes every season. But I guess they get away with alot on those shows. You don't see that kind of content anywhere else.

    just another example of being 'politically correct'

  19. T.Clark

    @diaigma It's nothing like that.

    @shuabert They're not respecting the dead, they just don't want their ratings to drop when people over react to a cartoon being a little politically incorrect. I highly doubt you'd be f*cking offended if they decided to air the episodes because you'd be laughing along right with us, so get off your high horse.

    F*ck Fox.

    Reminds me of the first Spider-Man teaser, when Spidey snares a badie helicopter in a web he spun between the twin towers. Scene never made the final cut.

    @shuabert I'm not trying to start a fight here man I'm just saying that the episodes and the recent horrific storms have nothing to do with one another, I understand that thousands have been effected by the storms but what does not airing these episodes do? nothing, what's the difference in showing them now and 9 weeks from now? no matter what the families affected will never forget what's happened to them, I mean it's not like Seth McFarlane wrote all these episodes in a couple days to make fun of everything that's happened, also bad weather happens all the time it's not like he could've predicted this

    Wow. People on here have a lot of class. Of course FOX pulled them. That's just respectful.
    The other option is to be a huge *sshole, like NBC did when they aired "Pass/Fail", the Heroes episode with an earthquake storyline, DURING the Haiti earthquake.

    The fact that you ( @Salem6777 @thrashnasty190 ) care more about seeing the latest episode of Family Guy than you do about respecting the dead is pretty goddamned sad.
