Fox picks up Andrew Klavan's Gideon

Gideon: According to The Hollywood Reporter, writer Andrew Klavan is on a roll. 20th Century Fox has picked up his spec script Gideon for mid- against high-six figures, making it the third Klavan project to sell in as many weeks.

Gideon centers on a young female artist who imagines evil figures so deeply that they cross over into her real world. The story starts out in a rural college town and then moves to the city. Robbie Brenner will oversee for Fox, with Klavan executive producing.

"I've had a good month," Klavan said. " 'Gideon' grows out of my love for Gothic art and romantic poetry. The romantics thought that the imagination was more real than the real world."
