Fox Atomic, Fox's new young-adult genre division, has bought the rights to John Stockwell's horror, Turistas for 2929 Productions.

The film stars Josh Duhamel, Melissa George and Olivia Wilde in the tale of college-age backpackers who embark on a dream vacation along the Brazilian coast, says The Hollywood Reporter. After an accident leaves them stranded, they discover a beachside bar filled with revelers, only to end up drugged by the locals and two of them kidnapped.

Turistas made an instant impact on the Fox execs who swept it up immediatly. There's no release date set as of yet.

Turistas was released December 1st, 2006 and stars Josh Duhamel, Melissa George, Olivia Wilde, Desmond Askew, Beau Garrett, Max Brown, Agles Steib, Miguel Lunardi. The film is directed by John Stockwell.
