Fox and Max Landis Revive Frankenstein

Max Landis to write Frankenstein screenplay
Max Landis to write Frankenstein screenplay
Fox has hired Chronicle writer Max Landis to write a screenplay for an untitled pic based on the classic monster tale Frankenstein.

No director has yet signed on for Fox's Frankenstein, though the studio is eyeing several high-profile helmers, including Paul Greengrass and David Yates.

Since many Frankenstein projects are in early development by different studios, Max Landis will probably develop a new take on Mary Shelley's classic story.

No production date has been set.

I remember reading once that Frank Darabont had wrote a screenplay based on the Frankenstein tale that had Guillermo del Toro saying he'd kill to direct it. So there's two names. Personally, let Darabont. Big fan of his, so that may just be some biased preferring him.

Tim Burton..?.... it would be awesome.... But amongst the ones they've listed The Mime would go for David Yates.....P. Greengrass is a cool director, with movies like the "Bourne" movies & Green Zone, but with someone who has directed "Harry Potter," -a fantasy story just like Frankenstein. And was able to do it very very well, David Yates just has a bigger leap......or what?

Not sure we need another Frankenstein film but I guess it has been awhile since Branagh did his version, which was pretty good imo.
