Fox adds its pics to PSP roster

According to The Hollywood Reporter, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has become the third major studio to say it will release movies for Sony's PlayStation Portable, fueling sentiments that the hot new game machine will become the dominant hand-held device for watching movies.

Two other majors, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and Buena Vista Home Entertainment, already are onboard, as are mini-major Lions Gate Entertainment and independent Geneon Entertainment. Universal Studios Home Entertainment also is expected to release Universal Media Disc-format movies by summer, with an initial slate that sources say likely will include The Chronicles of Riddick, Assault on Precinct 13 and Van Helsing.

The Chronicles of Riddick was released June 11th, 2004 and stars Vin Diesel, Colm Feore, Thandie Newton, Judi Dench, Karl Urban, Alexa Davalos, Linus Roache, Yorick van Wageningen. The film is directed by David Twohy.

Assault on Precinct 13 was released January 19th, 2005 and stars Ethan Hawke, Laurence Fishburne, Gabriel Byrne, Maria Bello, Drea de Matteo, John Leguizamo, Brian Dennehy, Ja Rule. The film is directed by Jean-François Richet.

Van Helsing was released May 7th, 2004 and stars Hugh Jackman, Kate Beckinsale, Richard Roxburgh, David Wenham, Shuler Hensley, Elena Anaya, Will Kemp, Kevin J. O'Connor. The film is directed by Stephen Sommers.
