Footloose Finds Its Female Lead in Julianne Hough

Julianne Hough, best known for her stint on Dancing with the Stars, has signed on to play the female lead opposite Chace Crawford in the upcoming remake of Footloose. According to Variety, this will be Hough's first major film role.

Chace Crawford, star of the CW's Gossip Girl, took over the role made famous by Kevin Bacon after Zac Efron dropped out earlier in the year. This new version of the iconic teen film will be more mature in its themes, with music from the original amplifying its narrative.

Footloose is set to start filming in March of 2010.

Footloose was released October 14th, 2011 and stars Kenny Wormald, Julianne Hough, Dennis Quaid, Andie MacDowell, Miles Teller, Ray McKinnon, Patrick Flueger, Kim Dickens. The film is directed by Craig Brewer.

    normally id agree with what sirmetro is saying with remakes, but not all remakes are that bad. i.e the producers was remade and the newer one is just as good as the original. i do agree that some movies were made to be done one time. but dont be so quick to judge.
