I loved the first film because it was a genuine horror film. It was smart and fresh for it's time and although it was more serious than the other films, it still had fun with itself. The other ones have become too campy and became more of exploitation flicks. nowadays, they just get good looking people who cannot act for their lives and just kill them off and this film looks no diffrent from that formula. I miss the dark tone and the suspense that the first film had. I am deifnately going to wait until this hit's the $0.99 bin or when it hits cable TV.

This deserves a thumbs up for the sole fact that we're basically being shown the movie for free through clips and trailers! Thanks Warner Bros. :)

@moviegeek Really? I'll have to see the film in full then. Of course the movie will have bad acting, as long as the kills are fun and not as corny as the 4th, I'm sure I'll walk out happy. We shall see!

@corey I didn't watch the clips, but some early fan reaction for this has been pretty good, saying it's the best one since the first. So I wouldn't lose all hope just yet. Critic are the final barrier.. but I doubt it will get higher than a 40% on RT.

Both @moviegeek and I had some hopes for this one. Looks like it'll be just as bad as the fourth, which is pretty disappointing. Not sure if I want to waste the money on this one on Friday. Though I probably will, I think I'll see 30 Minutes or Less first, then save this for the week ahead.

I can't wait to see this movie this weekend. While I agree the acting will be terrible and the story will be stupid it does look like stupid fun. And it was actually shot in 3D so it will actually be worth the extra charge.

I'm glad to know that they're not taking this film seriously at all. If anything that makes me want to watch it more.
