Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 was released November 19th, 2010 and stars Bill Nighy, Emma Watson, Richard Griffiths, Harry Melling, Daniel Radcliffe, Julie Walters, Bonnie Wright, Rupert Grint. The film is directed by David Yates.

@c-a-r-t-m-a-n, so then by your standard there should be no more Batman movies, since it's based on a book? What about The Last Airbender? It wasn't a book, but it was a television show that had a definitive ending? Should they have bothered to make that film? Books are great source material for movies. Many of the greatest movies of all time are adapted from books. That's why movies are based on books.

@OhTheFilmNerd: I said two things, and left it off. The 2nd is that it allows Harry to be free from flying responsibilities, allowing him to view more of the action for narration purposes and have his hands free to defend himself. That is my take anyway.

@OhTheFilmNerd: Don't have a problem with the motorbike sequence. Having Harry in the sidecar does two things. 1st it amps up the tension since he is at the mercy of other's protection and takes his one best skill, flying, away from him.
@movie-nut: The dragon in a trailer would only be odd if the trailer was only for part 1, but it looks likt this is a trailer for both films in a sense.

@c-a-r-t-m-a-n:They make movies from books because those who have read the books would like to see their favorite characters brought to life.So what if people know how the books will end?The entire point of it is to have an escape from reality.And possibly get more people into reading.Personly I love to read,I've read the entire Harry Potter series and was only disappointed in two of the movies(4&6).And I also think that splitting the deathly hallows into two films is fairly stupid given the book was boring.
But these pictures above look pretty sweet.Cant wait for this trailer.

I dont know why they make movies out of books, when people already know what is the story from start till the end(Exceptions like LOTR and few other),. No one wants to just watch the same stuff that they know already just to see it visually, when people read they visualize it thats morethan enough - personal opinion and peace to other people who wants to sniff my arse...
