You know, Diaigma, you're right. Schwarzenegger did do comedies & family movies as well. My kids and I love Jingle All The Way. I'm just missing Johnson in action. Whatever happened to Spyhunter? I know he has the videogame. But wasn't he supposed to make the film version as well?

    Oh, and MovieBuff...
Thanks for including me with the younger members. LOL It made my night.

Diagma... I couldn't have said it better myself. The younger members in these forums don't realize what its like to have children. I can only imagine Dwayne Johnson alone in his bedroom, sitting on his bed, contemplating his children asking why they can't see the movies he appears in. You're right. It had to have hit him hard. And you're also right... he'll make other kickass movies soon. We just have to be patient.

And FOY.... Witch Mountain is going to be a family friendly movie while Watchmen is more of a film with graphic novel proportions. Totally different audience. Witch Mountain will do fine.

not too bad. but I think that I will keep it for the DVD. Disney realeased it in the wrong time. watchmen will be realeased 2 weeks from before or after this I think. so never get close to watchmen or it'll brake ya

Not to disagree with you, SWAK1774, but Johnson's move to make more kid friendly films is not new among celebrities. Look at Schwarzenegger (started as Conan/Terminator, than made Kindergarten Cop and Jingle All The Way, before returning to T3). Johnson will be back for more action. Since he is a family man, it makes sense. "Daddy, why can't I watch the movies you're in?" If I was an actor, that would stab me close if my kids asked me that. Also, Johnson is a very charismatic guy. Kids look up to him. Maybe it's a good thing he wants to be a positive role model, instead of encouraging backyard wrestling (of which I still have scars from)?

Be patient. He'll be back to rip someone's head off in the near future, I'm sure.

I'll take my kids to see it.

But, seriously, someone needs to stick a machine gun in his hand. He's done enough family movies already. He has another one coming out called The Tooth Fairy. He needs to go back to doing action movies for awhile. If he wants to do another family movie at least stick to something like The Gridiron Gang.

Or even better, appear at the next Wrestlemania. He doesn't have to wrestle. I just want to see him in the ring talking sh*t to the others. He also needs to put on a few more pounds, as well as muscle.

This movie looks like its going to be fun to watch. I've seen the originals and yes they are classics but this re-invention looks like its going to work. I love the cast Dwayne Johnson and Carla are good choices and Dwayne has a nack for comedy I enjoyed him in be cool and get smart. As far as the 2 kids Annasophia and Alexander they are really good choices.

I don't know how old you are Cell... or what age you saw the originals, but I saw them when I was about ten. Though I enjoyed them, I don't think you can classify them as "real" movies. I guess you think "The World's Strongest Man" or "Now You See Him, Now You Don't" are "real" movies too? That's just dumb to say.

They may be "classics" to us because we saw them when we were children, but F*CK... give our young generation a chance to improve on our old movies. I myself enjoy the modern thearical cartoons (Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, Kung Fu Panda, Aladdin, etc) more than the classics (Snow White, Cinderella, etc). They're not necessarily better, just different.

As for story, there are some remakes that are better than the originals. I'm not saying every movie should be touched (they should stay away from The Godfather, Taxi Driver, Indiana Jones, and a few others), but Escape from Witch Mountain???? Please.

Don't know what to quite make of it. Looks corny, but has some effects. But effects don't make movies.

In one breath it lQQks really good and wild..but then in another breath it lQQks like shot-for-shot re-make of the original 1975 "Escape to Witch Mountain", only up-dated W./today's technology W./some poor acting and slap-stick humor thrown in!!!!
