A bold new chapter in the Predator universe, "Predators" was shot on location under Rodriguez's creative auspices at the filmmaker's Austin-based Troublemaker Studios, and is directed by Nimród Antal. The film stars Adrien Brody as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they've been brought together on an alien planet... as prey. With the exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers - mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members - human "predators" that are now being systemically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators.
Predators was released July 9th, 2010 and stars Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Alice Braga, Walton Goggins, Oleg Taktarov, Laurence Fishburne, Danny Trejo, Louis Ozawa Changchien. The film is directed by Nimród Antal.

What, PREquel? No, I think that's wrong, because they say this is a sequel to the original Predator. Now I am somewhat confused on if it takes place before or after Predator 2 but it definitely comes after Predator. So it's a sequel and not a prequel.
Damn and that trailer looks good, I may go see this in theaters instead of wait for DVD like i usually do with horror films. Although I am a bit skeptical as I don't think it will be as good as we all think it may.

I like that, maybe they think they're on another planet, because the place they're at looks a lot like Hawaii, or a tropical island like that (I know thats probably where the filmed but disregarding that fact) plus Rodriguez doesn't seem the type to have a plot point like on another planet

Avatar was a beautiful world that could only be created using special effects. The Predators, besides, of course, their size and face, have human-like features, in that they have the basic body structure of a human(walk upright, two arms, two legs, etc.) They can be easily achieved through prosthetic make-up and a tall/built actor, whereas characters like the Navi and Gollum could only be achieved through CGI and motion capture. The Navi were way too tall and slim to be portrayed by real actors(plus, it would kinda clash with the CGI environment of Pandora), and I doubt Gollum would have been half as believable had Andy Serkis actually used make-up instead of motion capture. The Predators operate in a very realistic world where CGI just wouldn't work. While they may be on another planet for this movie, it's not that much different from Earth(obviously if humans can survive there). Pandora was entirely CGI, so it made sense for their inhabitants to be CGI. CGIing the Predators would just clash with the overall atmosphere and mood the film carries. Any way ya slice it, there just isn't any excuse for the Predators to be computer generated. Don't try to fix what's not broken.

Radimus-83 i am not an idiot, i will tell you the scenes where is photorealistic. In the Begining when Neytiri want's to kill Jake, when she first saw him the shot where she is pointing the arrow at him. Second one when Jake learns how to hunt and in the end Neytiri tell's him "you are ready" that scenes is also photorealistic, and there's another one at the end i think when Neytiri's flying pterodactil dies :))).

I also liked Predator 2. That scene in the subway where the Predator takes out 20 odd sweaty commuters is pretty awesome. Oh, also the scene where the Jamaicans get wiped out in the fancy apartment. Some good sh*t.

If you watch a interview about predators with robert rodriguez he tells you how crap predator 2 was and how he wanted to make a proper sequel so thats why he has made predators been in his mind since 1995.

It is more of a sequel than a prequal. Though you could say it is a prequal to the AVP's cause Predator was made in the 80's and they are clearly set in the noughties. And it will be a prequal to Predator 2, so then it must be a sequal to Predator 1,.. right? ..... Then again it could be just a stand alone movie.
It is what ever you want it to be. Cause really, it's not that important. Just be happy your getting more Predator movies.

And i strongly advise you read S.D Perry's series. They are awsesome. I was never really interested in reading the books, then i got one at a book sale cheap. Since then i'm always on the look out for them. Very interesting and alot of detail and backstory. Well, at the end of the series there is anyway.

I know what happend, just invoking a response on what people think, and I said all this on the first page or so of the comments, just reinstating my opinion on this, because apparently some people, not you, write on here without reading the other comments and I think I might read the books, thats the stage of life i'm at, going back to the original source material to answer some of my questions, but to see it on screen would be better
and Radimus, why did you put my full name on here, like it first time we've talked, you don't remember me, I'm the only other BlizZzard on here, and the one from 2 yrs ago.
