.....Or was his last name in the book, a name that starts with the letter "C", that was completely different then the last name Shady?. I'm not sure if i remember what it was exactly.

Yeah, his name is Jack Shady in the book, but in the movie it'll be Jack Sparrow who that take his place, we already know that though ; ) .

The part you mentioned about Shanty's attempts to foil Blackbeards plan, which involved the fountain of youth, and zombies. Didn't you mean "Shady" ?, i thought his name in the book was Jack Shady, not Jack Shanty.

@POTC: Not really. The face & expressions were translated perfectly as they used on set motion capture to get his face and movements, expressions, and all aspects of the performance duplicated in the computer. So his performance and character wasn't hindered to me at all, and I thought he was kinda cool as DMC was my favorite in the trilogy for the characters, plot, and use of legends and classic poems and names for a story outline. Really intriguing piece. A prologue with DJ's arrival at the island would've been preferred though, as what happened there would be a great lead in for the opening shot of the ruined wedding. For after first seeing the film, I figured out the backstory with Jones, hence the even greater intrigue over the film and climax. Though I think they should've ended it with him opening the chest to find it empty. that shot was perfect.
Also, if you read the OST book, it has to do with zombies in some way or another, and Blackbeard's plot to use the fountain for the zombies, i think. That's the only connection between the two I could make, as the book's synopsis stated that it was about Shanty's attempts to foil B's plan which involved the fountain, and zombies.

When i first found out that Davy Jones was going to be completely CGI, i was let down by that, because, i was really upset that he was not going to be or like more like Barbossa, from Pirates 1. I think they really went way too far with Davy Jones in Pirates 2 and Pirates 3, don;t you think so too?.

I read somewhere on the internet a short while back ago, that Blackbeard will have some kind of "supernatural gimmick" like how Barbossa had Pirates 1, but better, and not the same as what Barbossa's supernatural gimmick was in Pirates 1, it'll be different then that, not the same as it.

@POTC: but that's my point. CGI doesn't alter the character at all. He was still really cool, and Nighy's face was translated perfectly. Barbossa was a skeleton in the climax of P1, but that didn't hinder him. Just cause there's no CG effects for Blackbeard doesn't automatically make him better than Nighy, or as good as Rush. It could still suck. After all, Blackbeard was pretty vicious, and for a Disney film, evoking that reputation without making him a pansy isn't easy.

Yeah, i've realized that by now. Although, those pictures are like spoilers, even though they're just set pictures, because some of the main cast from the movie are in those photos.

I know I've said this before, but once again a lot of noise is being made over stills. These pictures don't tell anything about how the movie is going to play out. Obviously, Sly is right about waiting for the trailer to speculate about the movie, and how the plot will progress and whether or not it looks satisfying. Even after the trailer, one shouldn't form a final opinion. Ultimately, it will be how you feel after leaving the theater next May 20th will determine your opinion of Pirates 4. These pictures mean nothing.

Good point you made about waiting for the movie trailer Pirates 4, although, there is one thing i thought i'd tell you, which is that Ian McShanes character "Blackbeard", will be like Geoffrey Rush's character "Barbossa", because he wont be completely all CGI and everything all the time, like how Bill Nighy's davy jones role as Davy Jones was in Pirates 2 and Pirates 3, although, i assume you already knew that, "i guess", right?. Now with that said, i'm not talking about their "acting performance", just to make that clear with you about that, what i mean is, that i'm talking about the "CGI" and
or Supernatural aspect of those characters played by those actors.

Lol guys i didn't mean to start a fight or anything. I was just saying, they are just pictures and that's all. I would expect it from a trailer (which i'm with @Slysnide, i'm just going to wait for one to continue to discuss this film), but not from a couple of photos.Didn't mean to start anything @Lazarou

    2 years agoby @thenewdrug89Flag

  14. slysnide

Okay, NewDrug89 is right. I'm not gonna cave to these taunts anymore, and @POTC you blatantly ignored my point that Nighy is as good as McShane, and there's no reason it'll be the same as Rush as Barbossa in #1 just cause McShane will have no digital touch ups like Nighy's character did. It does nothing to alter the performance. {The CG totally captured his real face if you didn't notice.} So why not read the novel? It's still in print. And Tim Powers' will be making a lot of bucks of it yet.

@Everyone: So once again, for the rest, with no more caving to these taunts ands distractions, lets wait for the trailer.
