First Look Studios has picked up the rights to the drama, Special at the Cannes Film Festival.

The film stars Michael Rapaport as a comic book-loving meter maid who finds he has developed extraordinary superpowers, notes The Hollywood Reporter. Rapaport's ordinary Joe takes a mind-altering drug that sends him into a world of defying gravity, reading people's minds and walking through walls.

Special is the directorial debut of Hal Haberman and Jeremy Passmore, who also wrote the film; look for it in theaters later this year.

Special was released November 21st, 2008 and stars Michael Rapaport, Paul Blackthorne, Josh Peck, Robert Baker, Jack Kehler, Alexandra Holden, Ian Bohen, Christopher Darga. The film is directed by Hal Haberman, Jeremy Passmore.
