You may have been one of the folks who got the chance to see the rough photos from the green-screen set of Will Eisner's The Spirit, the adaptation of the classic character by first-time director Frank Miller. If you did see them before Lionsgate pulled them, you were probably fairly disappointed with how the film was looking. But no worries! Lionsgate released new finished photos from the film, and they seem to fairly shout "Look! We're more like Sin City or 300 then Batman & Robin!"

The two photos feature Samuel L. Jackson as The Octopus - the Spirit's long-time archenemy, and Scarlett Johansson as Silken Floss, a jewel thief and one of the many femme fatales in The Spirit's life.

The first trailer for Will Eisner's The Spirit will air on April 19, 2008 at 7:00 EST.

Will Eisner's The Spirit opens January 16th, 2009, and stars Gabriel Macht, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Eva Mendes, Sarah Paulson, Dan Lauria, Stana Katic, Johnny Simmons, Louis Lombardi, Jamie King and Paz Vega.

The Spirit was released December 25th, 2008 and stars Jaime King, Gabriel Macht, Dan Gerrity, Arthur the Cat, Kimberly Cox, Brian Lucero, David Brian Martin, Larry Reinhardt-Meyer. The film is directed by Frank Miller.
