Yates messed up HP:Order of the Phoenix, but redeemed himself in the last HP film. He still has the last two films to do, so the Hobbit may not be on the top of his list to do.
His first HP film is okay but the book is heavy with the Order so why didn't he focus on that as its part of the major story.

Next thing we know HP will be remade one day.

  3. The Narrator: The Better Man

@Todd... yeahh. Like I said, he has the Tintin trilogy taking up his time, so its a no go for him.

Out of the suggested directors, Yates is the bast choice, but I think we are all sad that Del Toro has to leave. contracts are contracts.

Odd, his resume says another thing. I better check on that

PJ does need to make this. Still I think he doesn't want to do another one after these two, unless he's willing to.

@Todd89-Lovely Bones has come and gone, so that's really not part of the issue. It's the fact that he's been on board for 2+ years and these pics and a bit of casting are pretty much all we have. I'd be fed up too after uprooting my family for a project then to not have it go through the way it was planned. I think Yates is a better choice than Ratner (UGH!) and most others being mentioned. I'd rather see Jackson just do it, but at the same time unless he wants to do it with full commitment like LOTR he should find someone else. Yates already has some fantasy under his belt with the last two Potter films.

Peter asked Steven to take on the first Tin-tin since this was getting in the way. Lovey Bones is still moving forward but since he's under pressure, he's been reduced to Executor producer so he still has a say.
David Yates is a bad choice, I still think that his Guillermo's brother should take it on.

Even with these photos I have great concern for this movie. Jackson has a pretty busy schedule and finding the right director for this won't be easy. The wrong choice will destroy it. And I thought the studio hadn't even given this a green light yet.

  14. The Narrator: The Better Man

He is doing producing Tintin, with Spielberg, which has been filming already. Then they are gonna switch places and let him direct the sequel, and then they might co-direct the next installment. thats what I know for sure he's doing. And since the trilogy is in motion, I doubt he'll have to time to visit middle earth for the proper amount it'll take to do the hobbit, let alone shoot.
