Fincher is a genius, and Sorkin as mentioned is not half bad at all. So I will watch this with interest. But after this is done, Fincher better get to work on The Killer and Black Hole.

I have it on good authority that Fincher has Timberlake and Eisenberg punching keys in a way that we've never seen on screen before. Apparently, he has lit the keyboard from the bottom and yet made all the light sort of look like it's descending downward. Basically, everytime these guys code for FACEBOOK (which is what the movie is about, the site being built, it ends when Eisenberg's character logs in as the first user, FYI), we are going to see different lighting schemes. It is going to be dark and SEVEN-esque.

Fincher apparently is making a social statement with THE SOCIAL NETWORK. As if these sites are serial killers in a virtual way. Like they suck our lives away or something.

It should be interesting. There is also some interesting stuff being done with the scenes of these guys whiteboarding out the site before launch. I also have it on good word that those parts, and those parts only, are going to be 3D using a new technology called slotting.

When I get more information I will post that.

Come on, guys. The movie has a lot more going for it than just the awesome, mighty David Fincher. Aaron Sorkin, as Brian mentioned, is an excellent writer, who should deliver a great script. The cast isn't terrible. Anyone who saw Alpha Dog knows Timberlake has the chops to deliver a decent performance; even if he is a boy-band dropout. Eisenberg is f*cking annoying, but that'll probably play to his advantage, because well - computer geeks are usually f*cking annoying.

Whatever. I'm sold. I'll see it.

@soylentgreen I think that's what gives this flick legs. Fincher directing and the stellar Aaron Sorkin writing... this thing should be poised for greatness. I guess we'll see when we get our first look at the trailer.
