Remakes aren't all bad. Some movies shouldn't be touched, but others like Pelham, look pretty solid.
Also Cell, shut up! I mean, you use that line, "Give me _________ starring _______ anyday of the week." I mean its gettin old buddy.

Remakes have gotten far tooo carried away i agree with Celluloid dreams in that respect however what i don't agree with is his stance on Reboots. Reboots are the perfect way to either a)Ressurrect a dead franchise or b)finally do the movie right after failed attempts. Just look at Batman Begins and Dark Knight infinatly better than the awful Schumacher films and over the top Burton films. The Incredible Hulk was also much more true to the comic books than 2003's Hulk. A lot of movies missed the mark the first time. I only jutify a remake if the original one of the following
    1.Incredibly dated
2.Was a bad film but had a good idea
3.Is based on an already existing form of media i.e comic, novel, etc

excuse me for the question, what is this pelham 123 movie. dunno it seems nice. wait is this a remake. damn, we are having alot of remakes this year and at this time. skrew remakes, I just hate the word by itself, we seem to have too much remakes some are good, some are bad. I am just giving my opinion in a general way. but siriously this pelham movie looks nice.

"The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3".....SCREW RE-MAKES & REBOOTS!!!

Give me the 1974 film W./starring Walter Matthau, Robert Shaw, Jerry Stiller, and Martin Balsam ANYDAY!!!!!!

In 1998, the film was remade as a television movie with the same title, with Edward James Olmos in the Matthau role and Vincent D'Onofrio replacing Shaw as the senior hijacker. Although not particularly well received by critics or viewers, this version was reportedly more faithful to the book, though it updated the setting with new technologies. It was also devoid of the quirky humor that made the original so memorable.

Power to the people who punish bad cinema!

Walter Matthau movies shouldnt be remade, thats my stance on Pelham. Not getting a whole lot from that Year One pic, other than they look like two stoned cavemen, but with Harold Ramis at the helm it should be a good one.
