I have no doubts that Airbender could reach that level, @TheREALavatar. The cartoon is just mesmerizing, and deserves proper big-screen treatment.

You are welcome for Silence of the Lambs. Though my heart will always belong to Manhunter lol.

1. Godfather 2
2. Terminator 2
3. The Dark Knight
4. Empire Strikes Back
5. Spider Man 2
6. Superman 2
7. Aliens
8. Return of the Jedi (I still love it's 3-pronged climax, between the planet battle, the space battle, and between Darth and Skywalker. Still the most epic sh*t ever. Although If Avatar: The Last Airbender was made "properly", it would give it a run for it's money with the airship battle, Ozai and Aang battle, and Zuko and Azula battle, it would be just as epic).

Sure, we can count them. By the way, thanks for reminding me that Silence of the Lambs is a sequel. That, along with Toy Story 2 are making rethink the list a little.

In no particular order:
Aliens
Empire Strikes Back
Terminator 2
Mad Max 2
Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey
Clear & Present Danger
Indy Jones & The Last Crusade
Silence of the Lambs
After some googling, it seems I am the only person in the world who doesn't think that LOTR 2 & 3 are sequels. So, since I've counted Silence of the Lambs as a sequel, I guess we can include the LOTRs too?

@Cyn, since you do not count LOTR parts 2 & 3, neither will I. Therefore, a list of greatest sequels would be, in my eyes anyways, the following:
1) The Dark Knight(I've met at least five people that have completely forgotten about Batman Begins. There are very stupid people in this world, lol)
2) Godfather 2(simply because it is the only sequel to win the Oscar for Best Movie)
3) Empire Strikes Back(Introduction to Yoda and Boba Fett-what's not to love?)
4) Spider-Man 2(Train scene. Nuff said.)
5) Aliens(the best reason to hate Paul Reiser. Not the only reason, but the best reason)
6) Superman 2: Original Cut("Kneel before Zod!")
7) Terminator 2(Linda Hamilton and Robert Patrick are great)
8) Lethal Weapon 2(not taking Mel Gibson's psychotic ranting into account, this is the best buddy cop action flick ever)
9) The Bourne Ultimatum(best movie in the series)
10) Return of the Jedi: Original Cut(hate what Lucas has done to this movie over the years-wtf is Hayden Christensen doing there at the end? So now all of a sudden, Vader/Anakin didn't age? Stupid Lucas and his tinkering!)
There's my list of greatest sequels, although I admit that Return of the Jedi is in a tenuous position. It can easily be replaced by something new or something I forgot.

Okay - let's make a list of the most awesome sequels ever.

Jack could die in Pirates 4 or not, and they'd probably still make another one "Pirates 5", mostly because of Johnny Depp saying before, that he'd do up to a Pirates 7 if he could.

@Cyn, I love Aliens too, but it's not better than Empire Strikes Back, Godfather 2, TDK, or Spider-Man 2. I'm also tempted to say Superman 2, the original cut, not the Donner cut.

@TheREALavatar
I was fully prepared for someone to come back with the "Godfather2isawesome".
@The Fallen
AHA!!!! LOTR:TT and LOTR:RotK are NOT sequels!!! They are the 2nd and 3rd parts of a...'continuing saga...'
Oh I forgot about TDK and T2. My bad.

Gonna have to agree with @Fallen. Aliens rocks, but its not the greatest sequel ever made. No, Godfather Part 2 takes that cake for me. Superb storytelling, perfect performances, and it made me want to be a gangster lol.

The Narrator: The Better Man
@Cyn_de_Harven... granted Aliens is one of the best sequels ever made. But cinematically, there have been better sequels. Lotr: Two Towers and return of the King were both better than Fellowship (although all of them were insanely amazing). TDK was supremely the best superhero movie ever made and again, was a sequel. Spiderman 2 was really good. T2 was good, etc. So Aliens is definitely on the top 5 for best sequels ever. But it ain't king. :)

Holy crap - I just read your 'origins of meetings' post. Wow. That was obviously not in any of the movies - where did you get all that from? And, after my head exploded reading it, I feel like I'm now far more invested in the movies than I should be LOL

Yeah, someones got to break the record for the greatest sequel ever, maybe hopfully (fingers crossed), Pirates 4 could break that record, i bet it will have that potential to do so.

Yes, i think so too, because something probably happens to him and then they probably bring him to the fountain of youth and bring him back to life somehow, maybe with a mermaids help, with something having to do with the water from the fountain of youth. I heard that their will be good and bad mermaids so, it'll probably be a good mermaid that helps bring him back possibly.

Yeah, i hope so too. I'm not too worried about those two movies though, because after Pirates 2 and 3, and National Treasure 2, i''m bet they'll make sure that they don't over do it with Pirates 4 and National Treasure 3. I bet their probably aware of the fact that those last few movies were not that great, and will make next ones, the "sequels" to them, be better next time.

Their making a "Pirates 4", because their going to try and brink back this movie franchsie by trying to make Pirates 4 be more in the realm of what Pirates 1 was like over all, so that it wont be over bloated like Pirates 2 and Pirates 3 were.
