Completely agrees with @Diaigma. That is exactly how I feel about MNS as well.

@Diaigma... I know you didn't compare him to Ed Wood. I can get if people completely hate him, but Wood and Boll aren't eve filmmakers in my book. Never will be. :P

The clip was interesting. Still on the fence with this. Weird seeing the guy from (500) Days of Summer in this.

Look at it this way, @LOSTie - about the "throwing this guy on the fire" thing. MNS entered the scene with his first wide release being a sleeper success that was a best picture nomination (6th sense). This raised MNS on a kind of pedestal, for both himself and his audience. After that, he did Unbreakable, which I personally think is his best. Signs was good. The Village was okay, and after that he just sort of gave up. People who became his fans ten years ago feel betrayed today, since something with his name on it is supposed to be a treat and something to be excited about. Fame got to his head, and you can see that egotistical side of him from some recent interviews. The Happening was advertised as a cool looking thriller, and when it turned out bad, he said "it's supposed to be that way." Supposed to be? No. He was covering his behind, which tells me he's now intellectually dishonest to his audience. Now, if he can get his game back and make good movies again, I'm more than happy to see them. But for now, after the wake of Airbender . . . calling himself a fan and squandering the resource material of the absolute best US animated series ever to make one of the worst films in recent years (7% Tomatoes). If it was any other director who made it just the same, I would roast them just the same. For now, MNS has betrayed my trust and has settled with the likes of Sommers, Wood, and Boll.

i was not aware he made a pact with the devil. i would think james Cameron made one, i mean look how his movies are going!?! ... i thought the "devil" brought success, not whatever MNS is under....confused.

@LOSTie he made a pact with the devil. Didnt u know that? Thats why hes making this movie and thats why only sixth sense got critical acclaim.
And trust me last airbender is the worst picture of thisyear next to Jonah hex

Well @LOSTie, you go enjoy your Devil movie. People criticize him because the quality of his work has gone steadily down hill over the years, not improved. His plots suck, characters are retarded, and his writing is god awful.

I'm willing to eat my own words the day he makes a comeback with something that is truly good. And yes, I'll give him that chance. But until then, the dude sucks.

why is it that ppl love to throw this man on the fire for making "terrible" movies? I rarely see people criticizing other directors/writers who make worse stuff on the daily.....ppl just say: "that movie sucked" ... but no1 cares to grab their pitchfork and hunt the directors/writers down....but with MNS we all just gotta make sure we let the world know we hate HIS work. i think ppl just got under this fire to criticize HIM from now on. It seems like even if he makes an oscar-worthy movie, ppl won't care because they won't give it a change.

I loved Sixth Sense & Signs....but just because his recent work has not been as good(maybe terrible), it does not mean I'm going to criticize him for something i couldn't even dream of doing. If i ever got to make a hollywood movie, I wouldn't give a rats ass if it sucked. I would be proud of it.

FYI: I can't wait to see DEVIL.

I always thought that The Sixth Sense was way overated and still dont understand how it has an 85% fresh rating on rotten tomatoes. But audiences have definatly proved to hollywood that M Night needs to make more movies by dumping thier money into the total crapfest that is Airbender. Thank you America. Meanwhile, Scott Pilgrim slips by unnoticed by the masses. This is why we continue to get sh*t movies from hollywood.

@Dave it doesn't surprise me. There are a lot of people out there with bad taste. Hence why we have so many sh*tty movies and unoriginal material. If it sells, they will keep making it.

@TheREALavatah can u believe what a commenter just said about airbender?

  23. Dan

Airbender wasn't just disgraceful towards its source material, it was also a bad movie, period. Terrible acting, lines, editing. You don't have to hate on it for not following the story or introducing characters properly, it's bad without even taking those into consideration. That's pretty frakkin' bad.

@Guardian he's not going back to his roots. This isn't under his direction nor is it written under him. Though it is his idea, this sounds like another movie ive seen already.
