The fifth installment of the high-octane, high-testosterone series comes to theaters April 29th.
In the film, Dwayne Johnson plays Hobbs, a cop on the trail of street racers Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson and the familiar crew of the Furious franchise.
"One of the things I've always loved about the franchise - the reason I think it's been so successful over the years - is that they never stop trying to up the action," Dwayne Johnson says.
Director Justin Lin says:
"If you're going to do a Fast and Furious movie, you've got to go bigger each time," says Lin. "People thought it would be impossible to get Dwayne. But he didn't show up looking to cash a paycheck.
"That's pretty amazing, for a star like him to join the fifth part of a franchise. That says a lot about him and the fans."
"I think what keeps it going is that it's not really about cars," Lin says. "I have to be honest: I'm not a big car guy. At the core, Fast and Furious is about family and how to create them."

Fast Five was released April 29th, 2011 and stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Matt Schulze, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot. The film is directed by Justin Lin.

@JokersApprentice Yeah, and the fact that Justin Lin directed/co-wrote the last two films, in which I didn't really care for Tokyo Drift, but Fast & Furious was awesomeness. I was just pointing out the fact that Mia never got to drive the cars/be a thief smuggler, until the last scene in Fast & Furious it is shown she pretty much takes Letty's place on the team, and helps Brian bust out her brother. Kind of ironic since she was against it in the first movie. So it will be short-lived then, eh? Well this is also not going to be the "final" movie, either. While they are not filming them back-to-back, Justin Lin and his writers are currently developing The Fast and the Furious 6 and the actors want to do it, though they are not yet contractually obligated.

@CBF, yeah Jordana is back but I'm sure her part is gonna be a small one. If you check out earlier production photos it shows Mia and Brian walking on the beach and she's prego. I'm sure their gonna use this as part of the reason Brian's gonna do whatever "big/final" job is needed, since he's about to have a child. I seriously can't wait for this movie. Yeah, some can say the franchise has been cheesy, but who better to direct then Justin Lin, who was a fan like us when the first film came out. I'm sure he won't disappoint.

I don't know why everyone hates on these movies. I've seen all of them ( except 2 because of warnings from others) and I've enjoyed all of them. The action is always fun and the bad puns always there. I have started to consider fast and furious in the same way I consider SAW. Every once in a while they'll come out with another movie and I won't expect much. I will go see it anyway and probably enjoy myself as much as I have in the past. Plus it's about time they added someone who could match Vin's brutal strength :)

Wait a tic - Jordana IS coming back, as confirmed by Wiki. Okay so MW didn't state it. They also mention something about chronologically taking place between 3 and 4, that confuses the living daylights outta me.
