The Thing to return in Fantastic Four March of 2015
No casting has been announced just yet for Fantastic Four, but Chronicle director Josh Trank is at the helm of this superhero adventure. He will be working from a screenplay written by Michael Green and Jeremy Slater. It isn't known if this will be a straight up origin story, or if the screenplay will be based off a preexisting storyline in the Marvel Universe that kicks off with the team already in place.
Fantastic Four currently has no competition at the box office in the spring of 2015.
In other 20th Century Fox superhero news, it has been announced by the studio that their precious Marvel mutant spin-offs X-Men: Days of Future Past and The Wolverine will both be presented in 3D. Its not clear if X-Men: Days of Future Past will be shot in 3D or converted after the fact. It is assumed that director James Mangold will be converting The Wolverine, as filming is nearly completed and we have yet to hear that they are actually utilizing 3D cameras on set.
20th Century Fox will also be converting the already completed and in post-production adaptation of Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters for a 3D release, in theaters this August.
Now lets talk about casting. Who do you hope takes the reigns of The Thing? Who do you picture as the new Sue Storm? What about Reed and Johnny? Should they go all Asian? Maybe all African-American? What will make you mad? What will make you happy? Or should they have quit with Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, realizing this comic book just wasn't meant for the big screen?
Fantastic Four comes to theaters March 6th, 2015. The film is directed by Josh Trank.
X-Men: Days of Future Past comes to theaters July 18th, 2014 and stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman. The film is directed by Bryan Singer.
The Wolverine comes to theaters July 26th, 2013 and stars Hugh Jackman, Famke Janssen, Will Yun Lee, Brian Tee, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Hiroyuki Sanada, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima. The film is directed by James Mangold.

X-Men isnt out in 2013- too soon- also in 3D- it worked so well in 2D the First Prequel, i do not quite get the logic?

THE FANTASTIC FOUR- be a wonderous escapade, i didnt much like the original two. Burce Willis as The Thing, motion captured of course, Alex Russell as The Human Torch, Abbie Cornish as The Invisible Women. And as for Reed Richards, Tom Middleston :D

@ROFLitschristian Yeah, 30 years ago we a had a live action Hulk, it was ok back then, and the Thing was ok back in 2006, but in 2012 you can't put another guy in a costume without the audience thinking "oh, it's just a guy in a costume." Motion capture, period.

@bawnian-dexeus That can be true sometimes. Only when a movie is filmed with actual 3D cameras and have forced "gimmick effects" will I see it in 3D (Piranha 3D, My Bloody Valentine, etc)
I hate it when I see a movie that would be perfect for 3D; but is neither filmed in or converted to 3D. I'm thinking "wow, that would look great in 3D!."

@ghostman Obviously, but there are times when 3D conversions, when you see them in 2D, there a few scenes that stand out and your like "Clearly, this was the forced 3D", or maybe that's just me who notices these things.

@ejk1 They don't want Marvel to take them back?

@bawnian-dexeus JLA movie is being made? you're right, 2015 is going to be explosive summer for movies.
As for anyone who is pissed off about 3D conversions, no one is forcing you to see it in 3D, just go see the movie in 2D like I'm doing.

@felipe-11 There's no denying Hulk looked his best in Avengers. But we've had a live-action Hulk... It didn't turn out so good. Live-action thing was pretty okay though. Maybe they could just fuse the two.

You know what, I say let's see some clips or something in 2014, because you got to admit, these are some great characters and if they do it right and release it in March or July, if it's a good reboot it will do well and we all win!!

I must be the only one that liked F4, as of a reboot. I'm game as long it's good. I've always wanted a F4: 3

The Thing better be like what they did with The Hulk in Avengers.

@ROFLitschristian He looked good, considering the movies are a few years old, but now they gotta make him look as good as the Hulk looks in the Avengers.

@justatadmatt Amazing Spider-Man, for all that I found fault with, still gets props from me for staying where is was, two and a half weeks before TDKR. There's more than four weekends in the summer, pick one. Chances are they could put it in August, a month after the last of those four you mentioned will have been released. They've given this film the Ghost Rider treatment, two and a half years before its release. In other words, they've got limited or no expectations the film will be good, and if that's the case, why make it at all?

@ejk1 you have to remember it is going up against Avengers 2, Justice League, and Star Wars EpVII to name a few...they are smart to release it before and get crushed at the box office...
i also heard that DOFP might be shot in 48fps? Honestly, don't know how I feel about that one after all the concerns for the Hobbit.
And what is up with the last full paragraph of this article?

We'll see where a reboot goes. As of now I don't have a lot of hope for the FF. AS for Wolverine's 3D, f*ck off.

March 6th? Not even a summer release? Not showing a lot of confidence there, are we, Fox? Who's in the cast? Do you have any direction for the story yet? Mr. Trank, feel free to call me for any assistance you will surely need.

20th century still holds the rights to Fantastic Four? F*ck it. This movie will suck. Just like the last ones. I don't care.

Wolverine doesn't need tacked on 3D, and set the FF storyline after their origin. I'm so goddamn tired of origin stories. These f*cking characters have been around for decades, that should count for something.

I still say Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Ben Grimm/ the Thing, would be awesome having Jeffrey doing mo -cap for a Thing as big as the Hulk in the Avengers, and hearing his voice and have the Thing smoking cigars :D

Can't wait for another Fantasic Four movie. But bif fat thumbs down of the idea of post converting Wolverine and possibly X-Men: Days of Future Past.

I'm tired of reboots, why not just make a continuing to the last one with Silver Surfer? It seems as if Hollywood has been out of ideas for a long time with all these remakes and reboots that's been comin out for the past 10 years

3D for The Wolverine? Nah. I'll take a 2D showing if I even see it in theaters. As for Fantastic 4, well the original 2 were pretty bad, so a remake was inevitable.

Well, it's about time. Anyone could play these parts, but one thing's for sure, the Thing obviously needs to be motion captured this time.
