Family Guy: Something, Something, Something Dark Side on Blu-ray and DVD December 22nd

Seth MacFarlane loves his Star Wars. He first parodied the 1977 original in Family Guy: Blue Harvest, which was a hit on DVD. Now comes the follow-up episode from season 8 Family Guy: Something, Something, Something, Dark Side, which pokes fun at the second film in the Star Wars cannon The Empire Strikes Back. MacFarlane announced via Twitter last week that this new DVD and Blu-ray would be available December 22nd, though a price hasn't been set for retail.

Robot Chicken's was only 15 minutes long or so. Horrid. Seth Green who partaked in making that even poked fun at it with Peter in the final scene of Blue Harvest as Chris.

But why this TV movie which is only 4 minutes longer than the length of 2 regular FG episodes has taken 27 months to be released as is now revealed is inexplicable. Why not just postpone 2 regular ones to make this and ROTJ? I think they may have actually done both at the same time, but still, that'd only take of the length of 4 episodes + 8 minutes. And definitely not 36 months which it may be if ROTJ is to be released in September 2010 if they made both at the same time. Does anybody know why this is?

I am a first anf foremost a Trek guy, but I don't entirely dislike Wars. I just hate Lucas for raping the Saga.

But I think this will be great! Blue Harvest was Brilliant!

I love the scene where the two guys are standing on the railingless platform next to the giant port where the main blast fires out of the Death Star, and one guy says to the other: "So I told them, "We really need to get a railing over here or somebody's gonna fall. And you know what they said, they said", "If we install a railing, you guys will be leaning on it all day". Awesome!
