Extras: The Complete Second Season Chuckles Its Way to DVD July 10
British comedy sensation Ricky Gervais (The Office) is back as aspiring actor Andy Millman in HBO Video's Extras: The Complete Second Season. Called "a winner" by TV Guide and described by the Washington Post as "wincingly funny and hilarious," the Emmy-nominated HBO comedy series has definitely struck America's funnybone. This two-disc DVD collector's set contains all six, season two episodes featuring guest appearances by Sir Ian McKellen (The Lord Of the Rings), Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Orlando Bloom (Pirates of the Caribbean), Robert De Niro (The Good Shepherd), pop star David Bowie, Coldplay's Chris Martin and flamboyant British radio and TV personality Jonathan Ross as well as 100 minutes of bonus features. Extras: The Complete Second Season will be in stores on July 10, 2007.
Extras stars Ricky Gervais as Andy Millman, a 40-something actor who gave up his day job to pursue movie fame - only to find he couldn't land the substantial parts. Undaunted by failure and convinced of his star potential, Andy's success finally turns the corner when a comedy pilot he wrote gets picked up by a British TV network. Despite his many gaffs and foibles, Andy may well be on his way to fame and fortune...if only he can survive meddling network executives, questionable fans, and the gross ineptitude of his clueless agent, Darren Lamb (Stephen Merchant, co-creator of The Office). Throughout Andy's latest misadventures there is one reassuring constant: his ongoing friendship with Maggie Jacobs (Ashley Jensen, Ugly Betty), the perky if none-too-bright actress who continues to slog away as an extra on various big-budget movie sets, all the while searching for a man with two even legs.
