Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith hired to write ExpendaBelles spin-off
Millennium Entertainment has hired Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith (Legally Blonde) to write another female version of The Expendables, entitled ExpendaBelles.

We have been reporting lately on Adi Shankar's all-female action project known as the Untitled Adi Shankar Project, which has Gina Carano and Katee Sackhoff attached to star. This Millennium Entertainment project is seeking female action legends to make up their cast, instead of younger stars. The studio is said to be compiling their list of action stars, but don't plan on making any formal offers until the script is completed.

Avi Lerner and Mark Gill will produce for Millennium, along with Eclectic Pictures' Heidi Jo Markel, Summertime Entertainment's Julie Kroll, and Boaz Davidson. Trevor Short will serve as executive producer.

It isn't known when production will begin, although look for the Untitled Adi Shankar Project to start shooting first, since that project seems much further along in the development process.

That title is unforgivable and the writers are even worse. It's depressing how bad this idea seemed in theory and how much worse its gonna get before it's all over. More wasted Hollywood funds.

FEMME EXPENDABLES? - Humm.. I didn't see that coming... They better makes these women tough and fearless like their male counterparts not an action chick flick! I am pretty sure they won't though... maybe that's why they opt for a female director yet why does this seem all too coincidental?

Besides, I can already foresee a quote being told by Stallone's character in a cameo saying: "The job requires a bit of a woman's touch"

I agree, the title is a bit stupid. Although, I find it a bit hilarious that they chose to hire female writers
