Into the Wild is based on a true story and the bestselling book by Jon Krakauer. After graduating from Emory University in 1992, top student and athlete Christopher McCandless (Hirsch) abandons his possessions, gave his entire $24,000 savings account to charity and hitchhiked to Alaska to live in the wilderness. Along the way, Christopher encounters a series of characters that shape his life.
Into the Wild was released September 21st, 2007 and stars Emile Hirsch, Marcia Gay Harden, William Hurt, Jena Malone, Brian H. Dierker, Catherine Keener, Vince Vaughn, Kristen Stewart. The film is directed by Sean Penn.

wait a minute. Ain't that the girl from Donnie Darko? yeah. and there is "Girl Next Door" guy, "40 year old virgin" girl and Vince Vaughn. Sorry, there is Jena Malone, Emile Hirsch, Catherine Keener, and Vince Vaughn. This seems like a decent movie. I liked at least one other movie these actors have been in (like the ones i've listed). But, it seems a bit strange having Sean Penn direct another movie.
