EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Zac Efron and Others Talk Charlie St. Cloud

Actor and singer Zac Efron is one of the most popular young entertainers in the world. He first rose to fame in the Disney films High School Musical, High School Musical 2 and High School Musical 3: Senior Year but it was his role in the big screen adaptation of the Broadway musical Hairspray that convinced Hollywood that he had true talent and was more than just a passing teen-sensation. Since then Efron has made a conscious choice to stretch himself as an actor in different types of films like the comedy 17 Again and the drama Me and Orson Welles. Now he returns to the big screen with a new romantic film called Charlie St. Cloud, which opens on July 30th and is based on the popular novel by Ben Sherwood. This film also marks the second collaboration of Efron and director Burr Steers, who first worked together on 17 Again. We recently had a chance to sit down with Zac Efron and Burr Steers, as well as the films co-stars Charlie Tahan and Amanda Crew to discuss the movie, its difficult subject matter, brotherhood, the power of love and sailing. Charlie St. Cloud Interview Featurette

Charlie St. Cloud is based on an acclaimed novel and follows a young man and accomplished sailor, Charlie St. Cloud (Zac Efron), who survives an accident that lets him see the world in a unique way. Charlie has the adoration of his mother Claire (Kim Basinger) and little brother Sam (newcomer Charlie Tahan), as well as a college scholarship that will lead him far from his sleepy Pacific Northwest hometown. But his bright future is cut short when a tragedy strikes and takes his dreams with it. After his high-school classmate Tess (Amanda Crew) returns home unexpectedly, Charlie grows torn between honoring a promise he made four years earlier and moving forward with newfound love. As he finds the courage to let go of the past for good, Charlie discovers the soul most worth saving is his own.

Charlie St. Cloud was released July 30th, 2010 and stars Zac Efron, Charlie Tahan, Amanda Crew, Augustus Prew, Donal Logue, Kim Basinger, Ray Liotta, Dave Franco. The film is directed by Burr Steers.
