EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Uwe Boll Goes Totally Postal!

Maybe it's just my nature, but I've always been one to root for the underdog. And there is no bigger underdog in the world of cinema at this current moment in pop history than director Uwe Boll. So many people hate the man, a petition was put forth on the Internet to get him to stop making movies. I doubt that will happen, but in the wake of this feverish abhorrence comes the man's most accomplished and entertaining film to date. While still based on a popular video game, Postal is a unique departure for the bullish director. It's a gloriously offensive comedy with some truly great action sequences thrown in for good measure. And Boll doesn't mind taking a few swipes at himself in the process. We recently met up with Uwe to discuss his new film. We also chatted about that infamous petition, Stride Gum's involvement, Nazi gold, male frontal nudity, and fist fighting Michael Bay in the ring. Postal opens May 23rd, 2008.

Postal was released May 23rd, 2008 and stars Zack Ward, Dave Foley, Chris Coppola, Jackie Tohn, J.K. Simmons, Ralf Moeller, Verne Troyer, Chris Spencer. The film is directed by Uwe Boll.

    Err2005, you were probably bracing yourself for how awful the movie would be, lessening the impact somewhat. I was looking forward to Alone in the Dark. It was truly horrifying, but for all the wrong reasons. Even I can't begin to imagine just how disappointed I looked after watching that.

    as if this stands a chance at being decent. the idea of it is insane and above all pointless. the plot does not seem as if it could entertain and more importantly, it just looks dumb.

    i watched alone in the dark, finally, this past weekend, and honestly, it was bad.

    but it wasnt the hate-inducing awfulness i expected based on peoples comments in various uwe boll stories, including this one.

    but i guess i wont fully understand the hate this guy has invoked until or unless i watch some of his other movies.

    If he screws up a movie about islamic extremists going crazy, enviromentalists blowing crap up, corrupt cops and government, gary coleman with guns, someone urinating into the air which lands into their mouth making Postal Guy choke, and numerous other screwed up sh*t, he's gonna suck.

    But yeah, from what i've seen, Uwe Boll won't screw this one up, he perfectly f*cked it up.... in the best way possible... gonna be his first good film. Probably going to be remembered among over-the-top comedies of the decade, but not classed with your 'classic' 'Stoner' Comedies.

    but you're right, most of them are pretty entertaining, even though the only one that holds any water (in my opinion) was 'the island'.

    i still have yet to see a uwe boll film, but theres a used copy of alone in the dark at the pawn shop, maybe ill pick it up.

    he's pretty humble for a german, most of the german's ive met from germany (which is like 3 people at best) have all been pretty c*cky and unbearable to be around.

    i f*cking hate michael bay. the only thing i like about the guy is that hes able to get the big budgets required to make movies like transformers. but uwe is right about bay being at the forefront of the cliched sh*tty hollywood horrible type movies.

    anyway im gonna set out to see some of this guys movies now to see what everyone has been bitching about.

    good interview.
    i like how the interviewer nerded out at the end, asking for autographs and sh*t, i thought that was funny.

    He seems like a normal okay guy in these videos, but then says stupid ass sh*t like wanting to fight Michael Bay and from what people have been saying that he is saying don't go see Indy 4. What an idiot. He's supposed to be a professional, no studio will touch him after all of this because he talks too much sh*t and acts like his own sh*t don't stink. He's a dumbass. Not evil, not whatever, just dumb. I think we should have more Michael Bays and less Uwe Bolls, at least MB's movies are good. Regardless of how hard he works or doesn't work who gives a sh*t. How people see the movies they have watched determine their reputations...that's why Boll's rep sucks so much. It's a mirror of his films.
