The Tale of Despereaux brings Kate DiCamillo's beloved children's book to the big screen for the very first time. This wondrous tale revolves around three unlikely heroes: A misfit mouse who prefers reading books to eating them, an unhappy rat who schemes to leave the darkness of the dungeon, and a bumbling servant girl with cauliflower ears. Their fates become intertwined with that of the castle's princess, and it is Despereaux who will save them all. The Tale of Despereaux opens December 19th in theaters across the country.

The Tale of Despereaux was released December 19th, 2008 and stars Matthew Broderick, Dustin Hoffman, Emma Watson, Tracey Ullman, Kevin Kline, William H. Macy, Stanley Tucci, Ciarán Hinds. The film is directed by Sam Fell, Robert Stevenhagen.
