EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: The Sorcerer's Apprentice Cast and Crew Featurette

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer and actor Nicolas Cage have been making box office hits together for over a decade. It began with their collaborations on a string of extremely successful action films for The Walt Disney Company's Touchstone Pictures in the late '90s and early '2000s, which included The Rock, Con Air and Gone in Sixty Seconds. In 2004, the producer and star teamed with director Jon Turteltaub (Phenomenon) to make the family-friendly, action-adventure/mystery film National Treasure for Walt Disney Pictures, which was so popular that it spawned a sequel, National Treasure: Book of Secrets, in 2007. Now the three accomplished filmmakers have collaborated once again on a new family-friendly film for Walt Disney Pictures entitled, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, which opens on July 14th. The film is an updated version of the famous Mickey Mouse segment from the classic Disney animated film, Fantasia, and takes place in modern day New York. We recently had a chance to sit down and speak with the stars of the film Nicolas Cage, Jay Baruchel (Tropic Thunder, How To Train Your Dragon), Teresa Palmer (Bedtime Stories) and Toby Kebbell (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time), as well as the film's director, Jon Turteltaub, and it's producer Jerry Bruckheimer, to discuss the new movie, the challenges of adapting the classic animated film, how Cage's interest in Merlin was the catalyst for the project and the specific differences between sorcery and wizardry. Dave (Baruchel) is just an average college student, or so it appears, until the sorcerer Balthazar Blake (Cage) recruits him as his reluctant protégé and gives him a crash course in the art and science of magic. Blake is a master sorcerer living in modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina). As these unlikely partners work to stop the forces of darkness in modern-day Manhattan, Dave finds it is going to take all of the courage he can muster to survive his training, save the city and get the girl as he becomes The Sorcerer's Apprentice.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice was released July 14th, 2010 and stars Jay Baruchel, Nicolas Cage, Monica Bellucci, Alfred Molina, Toby Kebbell, Ethan Peck, Teresa Palmer, Peyton List. The film is directed by Jon Turteltaub.
