EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Robin Wright Penn and Blake Lively Discuss The Private Lives of Pippa Lee

Robin Wright is best known for playing two highly iconic roles on the big screen. The first, was where she gained her fame as the title role in Rob Reiner's The Princess Bride, the second is where she earned her Oscar nomination as Jenny in Forrest Gump. Blake Lively is best known for her break-through roles on both the hit series Gossip Girl and in the movies The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and it's sequel. So it only makes sense that the two actresses would share the title role, playing the same character at different points of her life in the new film The Private Lives of Pippa Lee, opening in theaters on November 27th. We recently had a chance to sit down with both Robin Wright and Blake Lively to discuss their new film, how they went about playing the same character, working with director Rebecca Miller and falling in love with Alan Arkin. From all outward appearances, Pippa Lee (Wright) leads a charmed existence. She is the devoted wife of an accomplished publisher (Alan Arkin) thirty years her senior, the proud mother of two grown children, and a trusted friend and confidant to all who cross her path. But as Pippa dutifully follows her husband to a new life in a staid Connecticut retirement community, her idyllic world and the persona she has built over the course of her marriage will be put to the ultimate test. In truth, looks are deceiving, and this picture-perfect woman has seen more than her fair share of turmoil in her youth. Embarking on a bittersweet journey of self-discovery, accompanied by a new, strange and soulful acquaintance (Keanu Reeves), Pippa must now confront both her volatile past and the hidden resentment of her seemingly perfect life in order to find her true sense of self. Starring Robin Wright, Alan Arkin, Blake Lively, Maria Bello, Keanu Reeves, Monica Bellucci, Julianne Moore, Winona Ryder, Mike Binder, Robin Weigert and Zoe Kazan, directed by Rebecca Miller, The Private Lives of Pippa Lee opens in theaters on November 27th.

The Private Lives of Pippa Lee was released November 27th, 2009 and stars Robin Wright, Mike Binder, Alan Arkin, Winona Ryder, Ryan McDonald, Cornel West, Maria Bello, Arnie Burton. The film is directed by Rebecca Miller.
