EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Kristen Stewart Holds The Yellow Handkerchief

Best known to the world as the star of the incredibly successful Twilight franchise, it's hard to imagine Kristen Stewart before the teen-vampire films made her into a household name. However, now fans have an opportunity to see the actress pre-super-stardom in the new film The Yellow Handkerchief, opening in theaters on February 26th, a movie that she actually filmed before she made the first Twilight movie. In the film, two lost teenagers help a broken ex-con find redemption by embarking on a road-trip across post-Katrina Louisiana to reunite him with his lost love. We recently had the opportunity to sit down with Stewart as well as her co-stars Eddie Redmayne (The Good Shepard) and Maria Bello (The Cooler) to discuss the film, their characters, the post-Katrina setting and the importance of helping your fellow man. A love story at its core, The Yellow Handkerchief is about three strangers of two generations bound by loneliness that find comfort in each other. After embarking on a road trip through post-Katrina Louisiana, their relationships forge and change in a myriad of ways, leading to the possibility of second chances at life and love. Brett Hanson (William Hurt), who is dealing with his painful past, crosses paths with a lonely and troubled teenager, Martine (Stewart), and an awkward young man named, Gordy (Redmayne). The trio head out together, each motivated by reasons of their own. Martine yearns to escape her family, Gordy hopes to get closer to Martine and Brett must decide whether he wants to return to the uncertainty of the life and the woman he left behind and for whom he longs, his ex-wife May (Maria Bello). Starring William Hurt, Kristen Stewart, Maria Bello and Eddie Redmayne. Directed by Udayan Prasad, The Yellow Handkerchief opens on February 26th.
