Every few years a film comes from overseas with a leading performance so remarkable that it sets the actor on a course for international stardom like Russell Crow in Romper Stomper or Eric Bana in Chopper. And for actor Tom Hardy, Bronson could be that film. Hardy gives a career-making performance as real life psychopath Michael Peterson, A.K.A. Charles Bronson, in the new movie which opens on October 9th in limited release. In 1974, a hot headed 19-year-old named Michael Peterson (Tom Hardy, in a blazing, transformative performance) decided he wanted to make a name for himself and so, with a homemade sawed-off shotgun and a head full of dreams he attempted to rob a post office. After making off with only 㿆.18, he was swiftly apprehended and originally sentenced to seven years in jail, Peterson has subsequently been behind bars for 34 years, 30 of which have been spent in solitary confinement. During that time, Michael Petersen, the boy, faded away and 'Charles Bronson,' his superstar alter ego, took center stage. Also Starring Matt King, James Lance, Kelly Adams and Amanda Burton and directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, Bronson opens in limited release on October 9th.

Bronson was released October 9th, 2009 and stars Tom Hardy, Matt King, Kelly Adams, Katy Barker, Edward Bennett-Coles, June Bladon, Neil Broome, Amanda Burton. The film is directed by Nicolas Winding Refn.
