EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Aaron Eckhart and Summer Bishil on Towelhead

TOWELHEAD follows the dark, bold and shockingly funny life of Jasira, a 13-year-old Arab-American girl, as she navigates the confusing and frightening path of adolescence and her own sexual awakening. Based on the critically acclaimed novel by Alicia Erian and written for the screen and directed by Alan Ball, the film stars Summer Bishil as a young girl forced to live with her strict Lebanese father. She must confront racism and hypocrisy at both home and at school, while at the same time struggling to make sense of her raging hormones and her newfound sexuality. Which are helped along by her much older neighbor Mr. Vuoso, an Army reservist (played by Aaron Eckhart). We recently met up with Aaron Eckhart, Summer Bishil, and director Alan Ball to discuss the making of this dark coming of age comedy.
