EXCLUSIVE: Seven Bunraku Character Photos
A mysterious drifter (Josh Hartnett) and an ardent young Japanese warrior named Yoshi (Gackt) both arrive in a town that has been terrorized by outrageous and virulent criminals. Each is obsessed with his separate mission, and guided by the wisdom of The Bartender (Woody Harrelson) at the Horseless Horseman Saloon, the two eventually join forces to bring down the corrupt and contemptuous reign of Nicola (Ron Perlman), the awesomely evil woodcutter and his lady Alexandra (Demi Moore), a femme fatale with a secret past. Guy Moshe writes and directs Bunraku, which comes to theaters on September 30th, and will be made available on VOD September 1st. We have seven exclusive behind-the-scenes character photos from the film featuring cast members Josh Hartnett, Kevin McKidd, Woody Harrelson, Ron Perlman, Demi Moore, and Larnell Stovall. Actually, this movie is gorgeous! I would strongly suggest reading up on feudal Japanese culture (particularly the samurai), the code of Bushido, and a geisha's place in political manipulation if you aren't already familiar with them, however. Otherwise, I think it might be difficult to really "get" this film.

The Narrator: The Better Man
Just saw the trailer. It does seem to try rather hard to be stylized and visually unique, but it looks flimsy and weird instead. Some action pieces look nice, but that doesn't make up for most of the... weirdness. Lol.
